Amazing! Awesome job on the restoration. I've always considered the Pershing to be the best looking tank ever build! Thank you for your great work! 😀

I loved that video on the M26 Pershing, and it is a brilliant piece of history restored. So well done guys! I have got my own 1/16 RC M26 Pershing and it has been done to Korean War specs and markings. It even has the later T84 rubberised tracks.

Can you guys bring the Pershing to tankfest and compare it to a Panther? I would love to see a video of that!

Unfortunately, that will not be possible. The Pershing is already on its way to its new owner in America.

So they upgraded the gun to the M46 standard but not the engine?

This would be an M26A1 - a number of these with the M3A1 gun were used in Korea.

Unfortunately for the Allies, the Pershing was developed too late in the war with Nazi Germany! As a result, U.S. tankers faced losses that they weren't prepared for nor had much control over! But leave it to our "enemies" at the time who delivered a "wake up call" to Americans that rebounded well beyond 1945! Wwg1wgA!

In the book, DEATH TRAPS , author Belton Y. Cooper says this, " Patton's rank and authority overwhelmed the resistance of the more experienced commanders, and the decision was made .....to deemphasize production of the M26 heavy tank and concentrate instead on the M4 medium tank. This turned out to be one of the most disastrous decisions of World War II, and its effect on the upcoming battle for Western Europe was catastrophic." I couldn't believe that Patton wouldn't have wanted the M26 ASAP , but he didn't! Get the book at AMAZON. " Without a doubt, this is one of the finest WWII memoirs ever written." ------Publishers Weekly

Death Trap has been debunked. Of the 50,000 men who were tankers 1,500 died, most after exiting a disabled tank. The issue with it blowing up was fixed with wet storage of the ammo and extra armor plating in the front right where some of the 75mm ammo was stored.

@@keystone1944 - Just curious: The late Belton Cooper - a trained professional engineer - was there in the ETO at or just behind the front with the 3rd Armored, serving as an ordnance officer. Since the 3rd was one of two "heavy" armored divisions in the army then in Europe, and since both saw heavy fighting throughout their time in theater, Cooper probably saw as many battle-damaged tanks as any officer in the ETO, perhaps even the most. On what basis do you criticize his book as being substandard? Please share with us your sterling credentials, I am sure, for making such a claim. Have you even served in the military - let alone as a tanker or ordnance officer? And are you a trained professional engineer? Or are you just sharing an uninformed opinion? It's just that I get a bit hot under the collar seeing punks on the internet belittle the achievements of other better men who are no longer around to defend themselves.
