This is the install video for the new emulsion shock set up for the Traxxas Sledge there could be some differences in the final product but the suspension feels amazing now.

Great job with this Brother David 😱. I setup my ZRS bladderless shocks up this same way. Plum level with the oil and compress the shocks down before tightening the bleeder screws. Putting some Green Slime on the washers and a little wrench turn past hand tight with the caps helps prevent any leakage. Like Mitch says, don't want to over-tighten, but maybe a 1/2 wrench turn. So excited to finally try these Killer caps on the Sledge!!! 🍻😎💪👊👊

I was so happy with the suspension on this thing. Now it made a big difference. This ledge has been quite a beast now all thanks to M2C.

So, I actually read the instructions from Tekno for building emulsion shocks. It turns out their process is actually: 1. Fill up the shocks, push the piston all the way up, and place and tighten the bleeder screw. 2) Pump the shock at least 15 times to mix the remaining air with the oil. 3) With the shock piston all the way down, take out the bleeder screw. 4) Push the shock piston all the way up to bleed the shock (you should see shock oil that starts to look like foam because of the emulsion. 5) Tighten the bleeder screw all the way once the shock is bled. If there is still rebound in the shock, pump the shocks and repeat the steps above until you get a dead shock with no rebound.

Emulsion style shocks require air lol, that’s why they are called emulsion because the oil emulsifies with air.

There’s just the air that’s in the cap

What exactly do these shock caps do? What weight oil are you running on your Arrma?

For now, the only M2C shock upgrades I'm installing are the pistons...although, I have plenty of other M2C parts on my Sledge (along with Traxxas & Basherqueen upgrades). Other upgrades (for now) to my shocks are the machined Traxxas caps & spring adjustment rings...and, as for the oil weights, I'm also going to "play around". Speaking of shock oil weights, I'm curious why there's been no update on the Sledge since upgrading the shocks, and increasing the oil viscosity. How did the 60F/70R work out, especially compared to the 50F/60R. Another upgrade I did was remove the dogbones & axles from the rear, and install a set of front CVDs to the rear (these were purchased before Traxxas released their own rear).

To be honest, I didn’t have the car out for quite some time yesterday. I just had it out at the motocross track. The suspension performed. Amazing until I hit a massive jump and landed nose first in a ditch lol it only broke the a arm, but the suspension is working beautiful.
@ninthislandrc
@ninthislandrc Жыл бұрын
@@BarstoneRC Regarding the oil viscosity change, that's fantastic...good to know. As for the A-arm breaking, sorry to hear that...but, at the same time, the Sledge is a fairly solid vehicle...that is, as long as you're not jumping it 25 ft into the air, and landing it perfectly upright on the top of a fence pole. Not sure if you have seen Razor RC's original video, but that's exactly what he did. He was running his sledge at the BMX park at Calabazas Park in the SF Bay Area (a place I also used to go, before moving to Las Vegas). He was launching it off the high jump ramps, and misjudged one 'entry', causing the vehicle to veer off to the left. When it landed, almost smack dab centered, talk about putting a concave indent into the chassis. It's a video well-worth watching for learning what NOT to do. As for my sledge, I started collecting upgrade parts for it last April, but didn't get around to start installing them until a couple weeks ago (between a family member passing away unexpectedly, work, prepping/packing for the move, and the 'problem' of my soon-to-be ex-wife, the past 10 months have been quite busy). I haven't done any video on it yet...but, once the final upgrades are received/installed, then I will shoot/edit/upload the video.
