Uncle Matty is out here battling the Florida sun while getting all the brake dust off. The carbon ceramics will be so much better once I put them on this week. I've got a check engine light on after the Eventuri intake install so if any of you S55 bros know if I need a tune, let me know.

I've been using Beadmaker on the daily driver as a stand alone protectant because I never got to decon the car last summer due to the wildfires. It's getting really crunchy so it's time to start fresh soon but it definitely was great using it in a pinch. Last weekend I mounted the Vyper Turbo fan in the garage that I ordered recently so detailing will be a lot more comfortable this season!

Tip to make those spray heads last longer is just dip it in your wash water when you are done and run a few sprays through it, then put it back on the bottle

Check engine light after intake install is resolved usually in two ways for BMW (cause I know you installed correctly) -add spacer to maf; these are sold readily (simple & reliable, but note will eat your mpg; so does a tune anyways) -or tune to adjust air to fuel (imo would just go for more pep, don't push it if tuner suggests)

M performance tips. Its basically the same exhaust as the comp pack. Good call on the Equal length mid pipe is a must to make this car sound good.

Yeah the stock brake pads on my F80 were awful. Switched them out for Akebono ceramic pads and it takes 2 months for dust to accumulate now as opposed to 2 miles with the stock pads lol but the M2C/CS brakes are actually slightly bigger than F80/F82 brakes so I’m guessing they dust even worse

Hey Matt! CEL code is probably from your MAF sensor. Get some MAF sensor cleaner pull the sensor, clean it, and replace. Clear code and should be good for awhile. You may have to do this periodically.

2020+’s can be tuned you just have to take out the ECU and ship it to someone to get it unlocked. I think Jordan at RK Tunes does that

I put the Eventuri charge pipes & intakes on my M2C. One of the charge pipe outlets popped off down by the turbo (looks like one of yours may be loose too) & got a check engine light/sloppy performance ~ I didn’t have it on tight enough..issue solved. Looking forward to seeing your Carbhan install. I have the JB4 (haven’t installed yet) Also have the AA equal length (ended up getting the resonaters)+ Remus race-love the sound. Keep your M2CS vids coming….

The steel brakes are good it's just the OEM brake pads that produce so much dust. If you swap out the pads it won't be so bad.

I agree. Just change the pads to Hawk street pads or other ceramic pads. The stock steel brakes are very good.

Any recommendations for shoes for detailing? Mine usually get soaked or my socks get soaked and my feet throb after a full detail. So what are some shoes that are comfortable, but yet the water won’t ruin them or my socks. Love the CS detail, amazing color and wheels combo!

I have an M2C with the Eventuri intake and Eventuri gloss CF charge pipes - 30,000km so far and no CEL. Maybe consider reseating the MAF - if I recall correctly it can only go in one way. There is also a vacuum line that connects to the larger of the two intakes - double check that? The charge pipes themselves seat a little wonky as well so I would make sure they are solid. I can’t imagine this being a major issue it has to be something minor. If all else fails thank god you got Mike F around lol I’m sure he’ll figure it out. Looking forward to future content especially the CCB swap!

I have the M2C and have done everything you're planning except the intake. The AA pipe changes the car's sensation drastically. Adds some punch too by removing 2 cats. The bootmod3 is easy and safe. Mine is 2019 so didn't have to bench unlock but you may have to. Take the ecu out and send it to an authorized tuner. Stage 1 is monster tq and power. Feels like a V8. Enjoy

I personally wouldn’t on a CS as it is already balanced with the power and handling. Adding more power will help the straight line but this car is meant to be a canyon carver and power is not everything. Also i wouldn’t flash tune or do any tune while under warranty. If anything breaks relating to the engine your boned if they flagged your a car with a tune.

If you go with charge pipes that have meth bungs on it make sure you pull the meth bungs off and put some blue lock tite on them. I was getting some crazy boost leak noise but no CEL and could not figure out for the life of me. One of those little bungs popped off and sat is self in between the fuel rail and the valve cover.

I would rather have the old-school long format E36 because I like to hear all the stuff going on in your head and you like the E36 more so the commentary could be even better. Matt Farah is not quite a Lamborghini type of guy because he loves all sorts of cars and likes having them modified as well. More of a driver and car appreciator but doesn't necessarily wrench or detail his cars. Feel like the Lamborghini type hardly knows anything technical or interesting about the car, but Matt Farah certainly knows a ton about numerous cars and modifications for them.

BMW changed their pads recently on the F platform and the dust is unbearable. With Hawk pads its pretty livable and you can go at least a week without it getting wrecked

Anything short of a custom tune is going to be janky. Do it right, go to a reputable tuner, tell them what you want, and get it done. They don’t have to tune it to 11. They can go safe and deli with plenty of gains.

That is one pro to the Tesla (even without ceramics) you rarely have any brake dust from the lack of braking. M2 really looks great from that angle too. You hit on the head with dealer model too. Buying a tesla is so damn easy. It's frustrating buying something else

Just keep it standard then, mhd, bm3,dinan will all do similar, they will alter, fuelling,boost and timing but still have all the bmw safety features and sensors in play, tuning boxes dont, like i said its worth trying and seeing for yourself,depending on year, your ecu could be locked anyways.

I have a m2 comp and I agree. When I first got it I wasn’t sure. But then once I got more used to it and started driving it hard I realised how incredible the engine, chassis and brakes really are. These cars are meant to drive, not wash.
