Took delivery of a black sapphire 2024 M340i with the same gloss black wheels and the wheel gap is driving me crazy. I have adaptive suspension so how is the ride quality after lowering with H&R springs? Eibach has the pro line for the G20 too which I had on my FK8 Type R with the oem adaptive suspension and it rode very smooth for the streets of LA which has many pot holes.

Actually, I can give you some feedback, as I bought a second hand 2019 Z4 M40i with adaptive suspension and those springs already installed. Sensation-wise, it was awesome! The car was really stiff, cornering was incredible as there was no body roll, and accelerations were very stable since the front of the car wouldn't raise. Plus, the lowered appearance of the car looked fantastic ! I really loved it. However, I had to remove them and go back to the stock springs after a month because it was terrible for everyday use. Every time I entered an underground parking, I would hit the underside of my front bumper. The same goes with speed bumps. I feel a bit sad because I preferred my car with those stiff suspensions, but it was really impractical and would end up causing terrible damage to the car.

The H&R springs are absolutely the worts ride quality possible. Handles great when going 120 but everyday driving it’s horrible. It also takes about a month for all of your doors to develop a sqeak as the body flexes and it will not go away unless you lube the seals weekly with silicon spray

Besides the strut spreader tool, did you need any other special tools for the installation?

You “need” a special pass through socket to remove the top hat nut while holding the strut with an Torx. But a standard offset wrench from harbor freight works the same

I saw you cut the front bumpstop. Is it necessary to cut it? Or is it okay to keep it as is. And how about the rear bumpstop?

I’ve heard you bottom out on the fronts if you don’t. But it’s definitely not necessary. You could also cut the rear but you would have to remove the strut

Is there a reason you didnt use the quick jacks for this that were next to the car in the intro? I have a set of quickjacks but I don't see many BMW videos actually using them

The jack points on the M340i are too far apart for my 5000xl quick jacks. They have worked for every other bmw I’ve owned
