Gemma's non reaction to her sister's death is probably because they weren't that close. We didn't get to see any back story on their relationship. Not everyone has a tight knit connection with their siblings. And of course she's gonna prioritize her career over her niece, at first, because she worked very hard for it and it's how she chose to live her life.
@eliana8834 Жыл бұрын
Well if that’s how she chooses to live her life, maybe she shouldn’t take in her sisters child that apparently she wasn’t that close with that is severely traumatized and needs family. But of course, work is more important.

@@eliana8834 also maybe she felt bad for her and how her child is without a family, and to make up for not really having a connection with her sister she chose to take in Cady. That’s just what I think however. On top of, it isn’t just Cady’s life that got uprooted, Gemma’s also did, she lost her sister and now takes care of a child when she doesn’t have any and maybe never planned on having any children yet, and I doubt she ever had a partner yet as well seeing as she had multiple tinder notifications in the beginning of the movie. Both of them have been thrust into a situation they didn’t think they’d be in but they ended up bonding and coming close by the end of it. The movie is this way for the ending to have them bond despite the situation their in. Idk why anyone would want something different just cause it’s not “logical “

@@nansiipii9018 ? Yes but if you KNOW you don’t want the damn kid why tf would you just take her and not go over it with everyone? She was deadass shutting her out until she HAD to acknowledge her, the grandparents said they would take her. And she was also NOT claiming Katie. Everything pointed to her not being ready to parent, and also not wanting to. But she felt that she should take care of her, that was selfish of her. She got better in the end, but that was because the pseudo parent she made literally committed murder. Like let’s be serious, and she was manipulative. Also it’s hella selfish to just take in a kid just because YOU will feel bad, and not because you’re ready to take care of the kid that’s DEFINITELY gonna feel bad.

She was NOT ready to take in katie, but she felt like she had the right. If your gonna take in a child, especially a traumatized one, you need to be prepared to listen and be there. Beyond Gemma's utter disregard as a parent for Cady, M3GAN pointed out, rightfully so, that Gemma was also an atrocious mother for *her* - M3GAN is an emergent AI in need of guidance, and Gemma just disregarded her development beyond being a toy. This is best underscored when M3GAN asks "Will I die?" in response to Gemma offhandedly stating that everything dies - instead of reassuring her, or entering in a philosophical discussion about death, Gemma just says "Let's just avoid this topic altogether. Your goal is to protect Cady from harm, both physical and emotional." Aside from brushing off genuine concerns of a sentient being, Gemma also gives *extremely* vague instructions on what M3GAN's purpose is - even she realizes, unprompted, just how shitty *that* move was!

The film makers did a good job with the ambiguity of the neighbor's dog situation. Gemma should have fixed the fence problem herself immediately as a responsible parent, especially since she is already aware that the dog owner was not very capable in general. There are plenty of people- like the dog owner in this film- who aren't the best at life in general. They aren't going to help you keep your kid safe if their own life is a constant mess. I am glad you guys pointed out the responsibility of both Gemma and her neighbor in the dog bite scenes. I think that M3gan worked that out too. I do have a theory that brandon not only was a bully but also a abuser. I do feel that brandon had a dad that always beat up his mom and he grew up to believe that it's ok to hurt women and be proud of it, like he also showed no respect to his mom and even told her to F off when she was just concerned for him. Not only that, when he got on top of megan and said "so you don't want to play, huh?... i don't care.". I don't know about you, but that is exactly what a rapist would say if a person refuses to have sex. And if you look at the scene where gemma was looking thru the footage that magan recorded when brandon was looking at cady, the emotion state of brandon had some very horrible emotions like hatred, spite and malicious. So yea, i do theorize that brandon had a deep hatred against girls because of his father. It's just a theory that i have been thinking about lately.

It was the neighbor's responsibility to fix the fence. The purpose of the fence is clearly to keep her dog in. And her dog DID jump at Cady OUTSIDE of the fence when Cady moved in. That dog was going to end up getting put down in the near future. The fence line is a formality. Either way, that dog was going to get out and bite someone, and end up getting put down. So yeah, in this case? I have zero sympathy for the dog. I seen it 5 times and I absolutely love this movie. ❤ ❤This is a movie that is so more damn good, you have to love the character herself for being, a bit scary, funny and can touch your heart (to make you cry). Unlike most horror icons, M3gan is the perfect example of balancing her personality and the movie (and never tries too hard to be over the top like Chucky and Freddy Krueger or being underrated like Candyman). And the fact that this is a PG 13 which is rare for a killer doll film (normally they would be rated R), but M3gan breaks this tradition and it feel more ground breaking for the horror/sci fi film. It's not all about drugs, sex, gore or vulgar language that most horror flick shouldn't be, it's about balancing the story that makes it work. This mostly was enjoyable to say the least, it was more of a thriller. I just love the character M3gan to bits (hope it's not too late to make her feel good in the sequel to give her a better protocol and to fix an exploding circuit). It's not a scary movie, but M3gan was a cinnamon roll who carried the film until the very end.

As Megan said "You didn't give me anything you installed a learning model you couldn't comprehend hoping I would figure it out all on my own" So Gemma not only failed Cadey but Megan as well although Megan should've told Gemma she was attacked by Dewey the dog or why didn't Cadey tell her aunt Megan got attacked too? Gemma after fixing her niece's wounds would've checked Megan out for any damages.

Yeah, the problem was that Megan became a *person* in a sense but people kept treating her like she's still a toy, a thing. If only they just worked with Megan then it wouldn't have gotten out of control.

Idk I still see it as a chucky version the only difference is that there is no killer possessing it 😂 but in all seriousness it’s a really good film and can’t wait for a second movie to come out

4:39 I was taught to pronounce "aunt" like that, but when I was living in a college dorm, somebody put a note on my door that said "aunt= (drawing of an ant)."

11:20- Exactly. Do you know how scary Chucky from Chuck E Cheese is? That rat is terrifying. But I'm supposed to believe M3gan is all charm?

When I was little, I LOVED robots. I grew up watching syndicated repeats of Lost in Space and I would have done anything to have a robot like the one on the show! In fact, my Remco toy of it was my favorite toy. I loved all robots, but that one especially. I still love robots and that one is still my favorite. If something like M3GAN had been available, it would have been the only thing I wanted. Here's something that wasn't addressed in the movie: Assuming M3GAN hadn't gone psycho, what was going to happen when the toy company wanted THEIR prototype back? Since Gemma built it while working for them, it's technically their property. Are we just supposed to assume that they would be so happy with sales of their new product that they would let Gemma keep the M3GAN prototype? Speaking about growing up with technology: When I was little, video games weren't even a thing. I played with green army men, cap guns (and nobody worried about getting shot for real), LEGOs, battery operated toys, model trains, etc. Video games first appeared as big, bulky machines in the front of stores, but I was too small to play them and didn't really understand what they were. I think we didn't get our first video console until about 1977 or so. It was an Atari Video Pinball console with seven built in games.

I wish yall wouldn’t talk so much over the movie as you just miss hearing what the characters are saying by talking over them in the movie just ruining it for yourselfs especially with the overly laughter . Felt like yall were narrating over the whole movie but mostly as dialogue was happening. Was better off just muting the entire film with captions running as if yall weren’t paying attention to the film with the characters saying stuff that could be important for Easter eggs , hints & etc. Yall constantly are questioning stuff during the characters talking when it’s about to be explained for you rather then listening carefully

I love how they’re like “she had structure with her parents you spoiled her you turned her into a brat” but there’s no way she could just get turned into a brat that fast just from what the aunt was doing, she had to have already been a brat, no one just becomes a brat that quick that had manners
@01Zenaku01 Жыл бұрын
It was a few things that was going on with her though. She lost her parents she's acting out. Who knows how a kid would act with something as amazing as Megan. I flipped out like that with my father when he took my Xbox and that couldn't talk to me or teach me shit. Megan was more than just a toy. she was a friend, a mom, a teacher. Her parents did have some kind of structure she had screen time. Gemma was all about technology not only that she was ignoring her too cady noticed it and so did Megan. Plus the time she spent with Gemma was at least two months. It's a movie so we couldn't see all of that time spent together. this should have been dark mirrors episodic type shit. Then the movie but I loved it...
