Ok...as funky a project as it would have been, I would have taken that Fiskars axe to that bobcats neck, scrubbed that skull off in the ocean and after bleaching at home it would be gracing my desk. Love your videos...looking back to this one I can see you've really progressed in your productions. 10K subs won't be long now! Congrats in advance...

I had plans to go here, but unfortanatly we did not get our trailer fixed in time. Oh well, there's always next year, great video!
@Maritimer9 жыл бұрын
+Andrew sci-fi-flyer hey thanks man ! how big is your trailer? you'd drive it down over that hill? haha must be a fairly rugged trailer ! you should definitely go down next summer, amazing place, I'll be going back for sure, maybe I'll see you there.
@MrFireline559 жыл бұрын
+Maritimer The trailer might be big enough to fit two bikes but we can just put one in the back of our truck, my great grand father made the trailer years ago to haul his golf cart when he would go golfing, it is a pretty rugged trail but from what it sounds like, not sure if I'm willing to take it through there, we will most likely offload at the beginning of the rough road,or our other option is driving the bikes from home there, with extra gas and refuelling a few times I think we could make it.

Great video. Nothing better than a good old cast iron frying pan. Just add a bit of butter or olive oil, let it get good and hot, and cook up a good feed of moose, caribou, rabbit, or if you are lucky to run into me after a day of diving a good feed of fresh scallops. Nothing like a good campfire feed. All the best.
@Maritimer9 жыл бұрын
+D Smith Thank you my friend ! You're right, I love my cast iron pans ! haha everything just seems to taste better in them, not sure why. Are you a fisherman or? you just hobby dive for scallops? Oh I love them, so rich ! I like bacon wrapped ones too, kind of breaks up the richness and lets me eat more haha

That looks like a real good time man. well done i enjoyed the video. Made me want to go beach camping . Good eats bro, well done. The toad was cool never seen that before, when your that close wow, awesome man.

Kullcraven Bushcraft hey thanks Kull, I really appreciate it, especially coming from a celebrity like you hahaha (was really routing for ya on Alone, sucks what happened with the bear) It was you who gave me the incentive to go out on my own, not sure if you remember but I asked you about wild animals (bear/coyote) when I first found your channel. and with the toads, I thought at first they were frogs b/c they were all in a pond, swimming around, it was pretty crazy, probably over 100 toads. thanks for the Support.

@Maritimer9 жыл бұрын
+FSBushcraft Hey Peter ! thanks, and you are right, I see a lot of people not using the cast iron pan correctly, so i thought I'd give a tip in there. Yeah it was too bad about the rain, I would have stayed for a little while longer, cooked breakfast and stuff haha I'm in that area quite a bit ATV'ing, and I have plans to take the GF there sometime, winter is coming though ! haha thanks for watching !

How is the road getting down to the beach? On google earth it looks fine but the last 1-3KM it's very difficult to tell? I'm thinking of heading down there with my kids. I've got a similar truck to yours with a 2" lift, skid plates, off-road bumpers and a winch. I'd be pulling my off-road camper which is a popup Fleetwood E3
@Maritimer4 жыл бұрын
you'll have absolutely no problem, steep rocky hill at the bottom (small round rocks, softball size) but no problem at all. Obviously it's winter now so I don't think you can get down there with a truck b/c I believe it's a snowmobile trail. I recently went down there on my motorcycle, and I have some good footage of the road down to the beach, i'll post the link... I hope this gives ya a better idea. kzbin.info/www/bejne/hajInXieaaaVp68

very few young ones know how to use cast iron cool
@Maritimer7 жыл бұрын
hey thank you! I also love cooking, so I use cast iron a lot, and as long as you have it seasoned correctly, and let it pre-heat before putting something in it, it should have sticking problems. but you are right, people are scared of cast iron bc they think everything sticks to it, so they use "non-stick" pans.... thanks for watching !

Thanks for all the info in the video. Can you make it to the island in your truck and camp, or is it too difficult a drive? After seeing this, I think I will be planning a trip there when it gets warmer.
@Maritimer8 жыл бұрын
Hey Dave, I've met some Jeeps/Samurai's out there before, Not sure I'd go out in my truck though, mines a DD stock Tacoma with BFG AT, plus you are totally dependant on the tide being out. If you are on ATV you can leave the island another way when the tide is in (which is in my ATV Camping video) but I don't think you can go that way with a truck, the trail is fairly tight. hope that helps. it's a beautiful spot.
