With the ecu code, something simple to check is the main dme connector plug (if you haven't already). I've seen a few times now where corrosion gets at the contacts in the plug and causes issues

Test the power and grounds with a loaded circuit. It can show 12v fine with a multimeter, but doesn't mean it can carry current. Test it with a test light, If it's not full bright then you could just have a loose connection, not high enough gauge connection, not a strong enough ground etc.

Control Unit (meaning ECU) Memory Supply (voltage to RAM integrated circuit) probably means that the RAM integrated circuit is not getting 5 volts. At power up time, the CPU (central processing unit) looks at all the voltages required to power the ECU. Seems like it is finding that the RAM is not powered properly, may be getting less or greater than 5 volts. Try another ECU. You could measure with a DVM between the power supply pin of the ROM you installed and ground. You should see 5 volts. The power supply pin is located in the corner to the right of the "half moon" notch in the ROM you replaced.

Hey..( the ECU problem) if you disconnect terminals on the battery and The plus and minus terminals and hold them together for like one minute then it will drain the ECU Like a reset wait like 10 minutes and connect your terminals again on the battery maybe work with no codes 🤷♂️🤞

Hey man! Just want to say that Ive been huge fan of your channel. Since Ive watched your videos Ive been loving my e34. But lately I've been experiencing crank no start issue. I have a bmw e34 with a m50b25tu and yes I also have the vanos rattle which currently you have on your s52. Anyway mine is an automatic and not getting power in the fuel pump fuse. Hope you can advice and wishing you all the best man! 🍻🍻🍻😎

Was your battery hooked up when you put the new chip in the ECU? I put a new chip in mine and disconnected the battery for about 1/2 hour then hooked battery back up. This lets the ECU recognize the new chip and configure new parameters.

So I have a Craigslist buy s52 swapped e34. It ticks just like yours did when you first fired it up. I know it sat for a long time before I bought it. I’ve changed the oil a few times, tried some lifter treatments, got a clean black stone report…still ticks. Any tips? I’ve only driven it about 500 miles in two years.
@m3nameisjosh464 Жыл бұрын
10w-40 high mileage castrol oil, then drive the hell out of it, if this doesn’t stop the tick then the motor is tired
@matthewwaskiewicz866 Жыл бұрын
Awesome thanks- I haven’t tried that oil or weight yet. I estimate the engine has about 110k on it. Say the oil doesn’t work and it is indeed “tired”… if I told You I had 24 new INA lifters but not the tools/skill (the will is there) put them in myself, at that point are you better off just doing a full refresh, rather then just lifters?
@m3nameisjosh464 Жыл бұрын
@@matthewwaskiewicz866 these engines really dont wear the lifters, especially at that low of mileage. 24v lifters are good for over 300k miles, but if you were to replace them id refresh the whole head
