Move couple of meters between each shot. That doesn't take away your time, since you still have the long reload. You can also move backwards/forwards, and look for the enemy arty at the same time during the reload. If you're good at multitasking, that will raise your arty gameplay to the whole next level. But, most important: Max your minimap! And take notice of it.

Totally agree. Most tank players don't even look at the minimap. but to Arty it is not only showing you where your next meal is, but also warns you where the enemy thrust is coming from so you can defend yourself.

Nice. Just as a point for discussion, is it *ever* worthwhile for *any* vehicle to agressively move forward? I have the idea that if "Team Green" were to stay near base, taking advantage of "spotting points" and strong points, and wait for the Red Team to advance before blowing them up, there would be a large number of wins and some draws, with few defeats (assuming dissimilar Red play).

Usually you can count off the numbers of enemy tanks to know when all the enemy are spotted and if they've left a flank open. The person to watch do this is Steve Wallst of Honest Gaming when he streams. After about 4 to 5 minutes into a game he can work out where the enemy weakness is by knowing which enemy tanks have not been spotted. If they can then detect where that tank is (by being spotted) then they know which bushes to blind hit and kill the unseen tank. Then it's only a matter of clearing the rest of the field. He streams on Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays at 14:00 to 18:30.

Well explained Nigel. Now perhaps you could explain to the new players about platooning. In almost every battle I get at least one new player and sometimes an experienced player, wanting me to platoon with them at the beginning of the battle. I only platoon with someone who has 3 kills already for the BIA medal, because I'm not planning on staying with them for another battle. You ONLY get extra credits and extra XP if you stay in a platoon and you only get those extras starting with the second battle. On the payout page it'll state "For Platooning" in the credits and also on the XP payouts. Also, all members of a platoon MUST have 3 kills and SURVIVE to get the BIA medal. It makes no sense to bring a third player into a platoon for the BIA if he doesn't have 3 kills already or is down to just a couple of hit points, because it lessens your chance at getting it. If you could bring these points to the new players I'm sure they'd appreciate it, because there's lots of players out there that don't know how platooning works.
