Ironically he'll get exactly what he wants, and exactly what he wanted to do to pup done to himself. He promises the ability to achieve their dreams, (to become the best adventurer), just to crush them, (the steep cost being the imminent pain and destruction they will unwittingly inflict on loved ones, not to mention their forced connection to Mephistophiles). However, when pup becomes strong enough, Mephistopiles would have already watched them agonize through the whole way, assisted and hindered when he sees fit, and finally gets a worthy opponent. Then his dreams shatter as he realizes his rival had finally outgrown him and or fights alongside powerful allies, and is vanquished / imprisoned.
