You're rigth. Even if XX missed some heavy BH after the 2 second sets...I guess that is why ML won 2 sets. Spectacular flicks with crazy angles were the key for XX at the end of the match.

You're right, XX backhand has improved immensely, and was possibly a factor in Ma Long not playing well. His plan A of attacking XX weakness had gone out the window. Ma long trie to play a lot trickier than usual because his hit hit hit tactic wasnt working. Good on XX!

Xu xin won with many reasons. One of them is he beat Ml on his BH. Zhang jike did same thing before. If ML cannot improve his BH, he will get defeat again later. If Zhang jike is in good form, he can beat XX.

Greate perfomance from XX!! but he should start learn play close to the table! because that hard footwork that he doing in every match normal fotr him because he's only 23, but as older he'll become as harder to do the same for him during the match

It is just because he played against somebody in total confidence and with a so good touch of the ball. Ma Long could not totally play his style just because XX closed a lot of doors...Great match and perf from XX.

Good game, but I thing that MA Long had a better forehand than Xu Xin, but Xu Xin was better than MA Long in Backhand and defense.

funny how nobody talks about XX's improved backhand. It's all about Ma Long not playing well. Ma Long made some incredible shots in this game, and it could've easily gone his way.

Just by looking at the match clearly and the comments below, all I can say is this: Ma Long was off, very sluggish and showing a somewhat careless attitude. Nevertheless, Xu Xin did play quite well, from counters to backhand offense to crazy 3-ball-attack tactics, and of course those last 4 awesome flicks at the end. Good match overall!
