Tai Chi was the most helpful thing for me. I have a Silat and Escrima background. Tai Chi was a mystery I had always wondered about. I have been in for 10 years! I first saw it I saw Old men and ladies in a park in San Francisco. I am from Hollywood which is a melting pot of cultures and this Tai Chi was inspirational. I want to learn Cantonese.

Look at that strike at 2:00 ff and at 4:18. And how many people in their 90's have you seen who can hit a balance point as at 3:02.

Just incredible. I love everything about Master Ma's movement, but the *tempo and quick changes* are a big part of what distinguishes him from just about everyone else.

Don't get me wrong. Yes, being able to do tai chi at a steady pace without breaking the flow is an ideal, but that's not how it works in application, pushing or sparring, and the audience is falling asleep within the first minute.
