@ponyboy1129 Hardly, this is one of the most useful sword forms for battle. Taiji is ALL about warfare. Yang Lu Chan, the founder of Yang style Taijiquan and Wu Quanyou, founder of Wu style Taiji, were both senior military instructors, teaching Taiji to the Qing military. Chen Wangting, founder of ALL Taiji (unless you believe in fairy tales, in which case I can't help you) was a Ming dynasty General. Harmony, balance and health are just pleasant side effects of martials arts, including Karate

Try the same moves at full speed, then talk of peace.... :) Full speed is about 5 times as fast as he's moving, and each of those is a combat move.

And never forget that fencing, like boxing, is a rhythm sport, so you not only have to control the space, you have to control the tempo. One of the things that distinguishes Ma, and very few others, is the way he changes the tempo in exhibition. Anyone who has ever fenced for real knows it's not all one speed-sometimes you slow the tempo down to set up the opponent for a lightening quick strike, and no one is quicker than *real* wudang fencers like Ma.

roflmao. Who taught you sword? Because mine comes directly from Li Jinglin and Song Wei-I, not only undiluted, but improved in every generation between. By contrast, when I look at the current generation of cosplay "swordfighters" I can only laugh at how shallow is their understanding, and what passes for "swordsmanship" in their circles.
