I visited the Maasai this summer in Northern Tanzania and was lucky enough to be able to spend a night at their boma. Their culture is so rich and beautiful, watching this brought back many memories. I have to admit I shed a few tears watching this and remembering the overwhelmingly amazing cultural experience. These people are so strong and awe-inspiring. I hope someday in my future I can go back and visit them again.

Wow!! Such amazing culture & history. I can never get enough, of all things Masai. Talk about great genetics! Their stature, their customs & their culture is incredible! I am Swedish, Norwegian & Danish, but when i took my DNA test recently, i found i was 2% Eastern African, with Masai being my primary African ethnic DNA marker. Needless to say, i was so blown away & very proud of course. I wonder which one of my many thousands of ancestors, hailed from this amazing global region. In Europe, we say that the Dutch men are the tallest, along with some of my fellow Scandinavians, yet almost all Masai, many East Africans & Africans in general, are the tallest humans in the world. An amazing fact. My English is very poor & i manage with spell check to write this. Tack for sharing this video.
@MaddoxKillgore4 жыл бұрын
Maasai are tall, but east Africans are generally smaller than West Africans, the maasai are hamitic and nilotic. The south Sudanese on the other hand are purely nilotic and are the tallest Africans.

There is a trick to the dance. It's so hard to emulate because we westerners think of the dance as being based on body movement and position but when I was there I was very frustrated because I'm a dancer and I wouldn't stop trying so finally they told me the trick. I'll give you a hint though, it helps a lot if you wear one of their necklaces. Watch the men's necklaces. For the women's dances, you'e on your own.
