'Ib Txhis' is the 8th track from my first album, Nyob Ua Ke, released in 2013.

Ib Txhis (Forever) is a lullaby of my personal vows I made to my husband. Long story short, our parents didn’t want us to get married, but we did anyways. So I wrote this song to remind myself that when I have kids, I need to be patient, lol.
On a serious note, this song reminds me of how powerful our words are. With them, we can express ourselves, share life with others, and build relationships. Even though the lyrics are simple and to the point, they guided me through an entire decade with my spouse; as a constant reminder to why I love him so.
I wish for everyone’s relationship to work, even through the hard times. Let your vows to one another be so strong that no one can break them. Not even yourself.

My husband's grandpa passed away in Feb. 2020. When Mother's Day came around that year, as i was prepping for our family's dinner, i was listening to this song. SIL came into the kitchen and told me that grandma is crying because of the song. 😢 Grandma is getting old now and slowly losing herself more and more each day. But every once in a while, she remembers grandpa and she gets sad all over again. Her and grandpa nagged at each other every single day but they truly loved each other. 😭 I hope my husband and I's love will last just as long as his grandparents. ❤️

This is such a beautiful song. It tells of a promise between two loved ones in a sad love story. Reading Memoirs of a Haunted Hmong Girl brought me back to this song because it is so fitting for their situation in the book ❤❤❤ The lyrics just breaks my heart they loved each other as much as this song entails but they didn't get to be together in this lifetime🥺
