I know it's basically the standard, but I HATE the Cold Steel buckler. Mostly because of the grip. I'm kind of excited to see these these new offerings from Mac Armour. Your insights here are greatly appreciated.

Agreed - the durability and cost of the CS buckler will make it a go-to choice for most people for a long time, but anyone who takes sword and buckler seriously should consider an upgrade if their budget allows. The grip and weight make the CS less appealing to me.

@@scottmacgregor3444 As Brittany mentioned, the ergonomics are not good. Its incredible bulk is a large part of the problem. To me, it's overbuilt to the point of hindering mobility, especially the knobs on the ends that want to catch on everything.

i often a talhoffer buckler and a round buckler at the same time if i hear buckler. but that looks pretty cool and that seems like good option to have.

I switched to a CS mini-buckler because of the weight issue and soda straw arms ...

I also have the mini, I like it, but I prefer having a larger diameter buckler. But it’s still a great option!

I have not! I’ve seen some stuff about them online but I don’t think they will make any small enough for me to try them in earnest.
