I began smoking a pipe so long ago that I was taught packing a pipe was first baby pterodactyl, then mama pterodactyl, and finally daddy pterodactyl...written in stone, literally! At least the method has better reference points now! Miracle, please come to Matthew soon! Yep, it's sinister to fall for a blend that's out of stock...my bud Danny Whitling Piper fell hard for Watch City Cigar's Santa's Sack, thanks to me...and it sure left a void when it ran out! My packing method has evolved over time. I pack a lot looser now than when I first started. I let my tamper do all the work now.

I just take two pinches, and dont tamp it down at all except to get it all in the bowl. Equates to half a bowl once you start tamping after burning through the top part.

So, my comments are as follows: 😂 1. I agreed with you at one time, in regard to Escudo...in fact...until last night really....I had a hard time seeing how Escudo was any better than Peter Stokkebye Navy Flake....however, I smoked Escudo last night after aging it for 2 months, and i was unleashed into the DARK FRUIT CAPITAL OF THE WORLD!!!! A UNIVERSE PREVIOUSLY UNKNOWN TO ME with Escudo... 🤔🙃 2. I agree...Pack it light, not tight 3. Hope you find that new place brother! Lord Bless! ❤ 🙏

I'll have to smoke it again with the breathing method and see how that does me. My Escudo has three years of age on it, but I've only just begun implementing the breathing method, which is a game changer, IMO. It would be nice to find out I love it after all. Thanks for the blessing, Amicus. 💯❤️🖖🏼

Yes, always pack light my brother. Learned that in 1978. From my pipe mentor. I think Escudo is over-rated. It’s good but I’m not keeping it in the cellar . Nice chat.

Had MacBarens dark twist before and it was alright but the royal must just be sold in escudo land! Escudo is alright but i don't have the urge to chase it, Petersons navy flake is what's available here, but i enjoy a lot more besides. Retrohale is important to my experience and a pipe cleaner to sort any over exuberant tamping/packing!

Like this blend too, but it’s a little bitty to me… if it didn’t do that I’d love it. I dunno. My smokes are always like an hour minimum. Fascinating to hear about these 20 min packs. I’m not saying any particular length of time is correct, just interesting. I guess ribbon tobacco I have a harder time getting more than an hour out of the smoke. 🤷🏻
