Good AM is personally my favorite album from Mac, he was rapping’ his ass off on that. Mac was always learning and always trying to perfect his craft. His beats are amazing, musically gifted individual. Also, one of the boys, Schoolboy Q and him were super tight.

His music hasn’t left my rotation in two years and it’s some of the most sincere beautiful music that I’ve had the pleasure to listen to, I would definitely listen to the rest of this album if you liked this

Yo my man, Mac Miller is one of the greatest to ever do it. He was a true artist, his music goes way beyond 'just' being Hip Hop/Rap. He invented himself again and again in different more intriguing ways with each of his Projects. His subject matter was often far beyond the usual tropes in hip hop. For me, his "Faces" Mixtape (a mixtape of his highly appraised second album "Watching Movies with the Sound Off" ) is an absolute must know for anybody who claims to know and love the culture. I know for a fact, Polo, you will have an extraordinary listening experience when you go through that tape. I know you love music and true artistry, so do yourself a favour and listen to it. Screw reacting to this in videos. just sit down somewhere, relax and experience thjis as a whole. Screw us greedy rection vid fans this one time, you do enough for us. do this one for you. Peace bruh

Mac Miller Forever.❤ So much unique beauty in his music. He is the only modern artist i listen to.. He was just special, i liked him as a nice little summer vibe with KIDS and BDE, but completely fell in love with him in the time of Faces and Macadelic ❤ incredibly creative, deep, dark, but hopeful and with an eye for crazy, weird beauty in this world, influenced by much of the music i love as well and he was just two years older than me.. i usually pretty much only listen to music of the 60s/70s with some exceptions, but i never felt that much of a "connection" with a stranger and he was the only person i never knew, over whom i lost real tears 💔

I recently started listening to Mac as well. I have a eccentric taste but my standard is it has to come from the soul. This kid had it. If not for that gd fentanyl. He was getting better as an artist even while spiraling. Only negative is his posthumorus releases are so beautiful and honest they will tear you up. especially if you can relate.

The words he carved "Memento Mori" roughly means "remember you will die". It's been used by many famous people throughout history as not only a coping mechanism but it can also humble yourself in a way. You just got hired? You just got into Harvard? You just got nomiated for a nobel prize? Memento Mori, you can't take anything with you. It pales in comparison to the idea of eternity. How many people have come before you and had the same honors? And where are they now? They're dead just like you will be. Marcus Aurelius said this practice of saying to the good things and the bad things in life, that you will die, is a reminder that helps you accept the good things without arrogance and to let the bad things go with indifference. Your plane is delayed, you're stressed, you're tired, you're hungry, you're cynical, you say to yourself "Memento Mori" I'm going to die. What does any of this mean? Why am I taking any of it so seriously? Why am I letting it get to me? What's three hours here or three hours there? Remember you're going to die. What you do control is whether you waste time getting upset by something. Whether you waste time taking it personally, whether you're the best in the world at what you do, or you're an unpaid intern, whether your work is being beloved by the critics or savaged by the critics, whether you have all the money you need, or you can barely get by. Memento Mori, remember I will die. None of this matters in light of that. Marcus Aurelius once said "You could leave earth right now. Let that determine what you do and say and think." This is a key idea for stoicism in which Marcus Aurelius is considered the "Emperor of Stoicism". There's been many famous stoics throughout history: Zeno (founded stoic school around 300 BC) Marcus Aurelius (the last leader of the stoic school, while also being the Emperor of Rome) George Washington Theodore Roosevelt Pete Carroll Arnold Schwarzenegger Ryan Holiday (author of The Obsticle is the Way. See more below) New England Patriots who funny enough gives some credit to their teams connection to them reading the above mentioned book by Ryan Holiday. Many more examples of people you've heard of studying stoicism and practicing it in their daily lives if you do some research. I'll end this with a recommendation to check out one of, if not the greatest philosophical texts ever written. "Marcus Aurelius' Meditations". Which was written as a series of daily assertations, Meditations is an ensemble of stoic maxims that the Emperor lived by during his reign. The inspiration for his journals came from Epicetetus' Discourses, which heavily influenced Marcus Aurelius as he studied philosophy in his formative years. Stay Blessed. Sources, roughly: Thecollector, Maurcus Aurelius' Meditations, Daily Stoic youtube, and myself.

This journey you bout to take is prolly gonna make you emotional as you go through his stuff, but it's all worth it & it truly will be special & bittersweet. He started on that frat-rap style, but truly evolved into a very deep & complex musician with the way he went out producing his stuff (which he did A LOT of under the alias Larry Fisherman). His talent doesn't just stop at his production either, he's still got BARS & He's just got SO MUCH DIVERSE stuff throughout his catalog in that there's something for everyone. Also Fun fact about this track, J.I.D is actually a background vocal. Dope reaction tho, & it's always a bittersweet feeling to see someone who's never heard of Mac react to his stuff for the first time. Hope to see more

I wasn’t a super fan of his but remember his song “Nikes on my Feet” that my good friend kept playing when it first dropped and it was smooth! Kinda left Mac alone, not on purpose, until almost the time he passed. Somehow started to just explore more of his stuff right around that time and knowing the details, his passing just breaks my heart to the core. Listened to a lot more, saw how involved he was in his production, how much fun he had with his craft and how many people in the industry I love like Thundercat and Schoolboy Q that were just super close to him and it kind of rubbed off. I was hurt when Pac died, Biggie, Big L, just so much talent. I think when Mac died I just had more life experience and so much more loss and his death hit me really hard… really hard… as someone who understands addiction very well, one of the few celebrity deaths that I for real cried about and still weighs on me. So much potential, so much honesty, so much heart, creativity, and his personality on everything I’ve seen was crazy. I lost by best friend when I was 25 and Mac just reminded me in some ways of why I was so close to my dude. He may not be everyone’s version of hip hop but dude was an amazing artist who had such a unique vibe that I couldn’t help but respect and love his legacy. RIP to a real artist
