3:30: 900 MB (bytes) = 7200 Mb (bits), so it was not “close to 1Gb/s”, but rather “close to 10Gb/s”. The network drive transfer speed was about 7.2 Gb/s, and that’s impressive. Anyway thanks for the review.

Does the M1 get hot with the 10GbE? With my 10GbE on the Intel mac mini the fans ramp up as it gets hot

Hello, you can connect your external drive via USB-c or thunderbolt. If you have a PCIE or M.2 drive it can support good speeds till the time it caps out and comes down a steady speed . It depends on your hard disk and there is no limitation from Mac. Again I am assuming you are transmitting 10GB or less.

You need to custom order it and purchase when you buy mac mini and it auto recognized when you connect to other 10Gbe switch, PC or NAS
