Mac & Morag have a wander around Port Patrick

We hadn’t been out for a week and the weather was closing in so we got out the day before the storm hit. We didn’t travel far only about 40 miles, but we needed to get out.
Port Patrick is a largish pretty village on the coast facing Ireland and has a sheltered harbour. Boat trips can be booked from the harbour but the main attraction is the hotels with one of them being a prize winning fish restaurant.
There are some walks starting from the village, but being by the sea there are steep climbs involved, but Morag and myself managed and will be going back to walk some of the paths.
Nice clean wee village.

I was there visiting in early November 2022 and the sea was raging!! Huge waves and strong winds..we could barely shut the door to that little cove shop. The sea was amazing- beautiful- powerful. I loved it! So different to see it on a calm bluesky day. Beautiful place. We sat at that same table in that pub! I hope to return in May.

There are a number of villages by the sea in D&G worth a visit, but the food in that pub is hard to beat.

Love Portpatrick , that walk takes you past the old Coastguard Radio station, skirts the golf course and up and down round 2 bays.. Very hilly.

Wonderful to watch Mac. Have you ever been to Killantringan Lighthouse? It's just along the coast a bit from there. Had a nice little stroll there a few years back. Keep up the good work.
