“All she'd done was look at that producer, and he'd turn tail and run. Now she was looking at me. But I didn't feel like running. She was this rarified, timeless creature. She knew everything about art, literature, fashion. This was the world I wanted to live in, and she promised I could...forever. It was glorious. She taught me I could be a lady and badass. There was nothing I couldn't be except hers forever”.

Hotel was THE best season in my opinion. I was fascinated with it. Loved every moment. I was giddy when they returned to the (now light) hotel in Apocalypse.

@@BLACKzj52 right? I know that the hall of the hotel was probably just made on studio, but they changed all of the entrace when it was shown on apocalypse.

Brilliant score for that scene. Captured a dark lonely place in the mind, mixed with desire and mystery and most of all... them doing the nasty.

One of my favorite scores of all time honestly. I love the gritty depth, the rich ambiance, the emotional resonance, highs and lows that play out in this piece that match in the narrative as Ramona recalls the highs of fascination and adoration for the countess, laced with the almost dangerous decrescendo of notes you played at 1:38 and then repeat. This part of the score hints to me at an unfortunate inevitability that would play out, a predator-prey dialectic playing out in real time and how it would change Ramona's character forever.

Oh please! 80s has it own vibe, and it’s for every movies, every films, every songs. So please just stop stereotyping 80s as Stranger Things. This soundtrack in AHS Hotel was born even sooner than ST, and Mac Quayle’s style is also 80s as well. No one tries to copy “ST style” cause it’s 80s STYLE at all! I’m a ST fan (I’m a shipper of Mileven and Lumax if you wanna know), but I kinda tired of those comments like “It’s full of ST style”, “This is the most thing in AHS sounds like ST”,...

I kept listening and listening to this because the mysterious and mystical vibes gave me sooo much inspiration for the thriller novel I'm currently writing... I even wrote a whole scene with this amazing track in my mind as background music. For those who'd like to know, the scene I wrote with this score in my mind goes like this: The 17 year old Mara van der Hooge (Dutch name) has just discovered the fact that she is a witch who possesses the Gift of Sepsis; a very dangerous supernatural ability which enables the witch to litterally sicken other individuals. Mara, who is a rebellious but overall innocent teenager, possesses the dark ability to make others ill by causing septicemia (Sepis) in their organs. Mara is shocked by this discovery (she found out by finding an old video message of her deceased father in his cabin in the woods) and she goes to her father's flower garden to try out her own power for the first time in her life. When the depressing tone of the music hits for the first time, Mara realizes that she has just managed to wither a white rose with her mind, by focusing on the emotion of anger. When the bright part of the music returns, the witch goes back to the attic of her father's cabin, where she further studies the video message her father made to inform her about everything she needs to know about the Gift of Sepsis. When the beat starts to lift up, Mara goes to the river nearby the cabin to find a small lavender field. She carries a book with notes she made about her gift and stands in the middle of the field to try out her power again, this time with a bit more knowledge about her ability. When the music gets more intens near the end, she closes her eyes and focuses as much as possible on the hatred she has felt in her entire life without her father. When the beautiful synths of the music get really loud, Mara opens her eyes and finds herself in the middle of the lavender field, which is no longer purple but completely grey-ish and depraved. As soon as the depressing sound of the music returns, the 17 year old realises how dangerous she has been her whole life without even knowing about it. For me it was just very fun to write this down for whoever cares, so if no one does, it's fine because it was still fun to me hahaha... But let me know if you did like it.

GTFO. "Stranger Things" is nothing but a lazy attempt to invigorate 80's nostalgia so audiences are blinded to what a horribly average show that is. This song is way too good to be on that wasted concept.
