Very true. The best sitcoms are funny decades after they aired. Shows like this, Green Acres, Barney Miller, The Golden Girls, Andy Griffith Show, Married with Children, Cheers, Hogan's Heroes, Frasier, Sanford and Son, Fresh Prince of Bel Air and All In The Family just don't age or date. They're still on tv every day somewhere or here online or streaming. Good comedies are so rare now we really appreciate these gems.

I grew up with this, Cheers, Mr. Bean (in Canada), Cosby, different strokes, Family Ties, golden girls, then Seinfeld etc.. It was light hearted but wickedly funny as you can see from this clip. Dan Fielding was my favourite on Night Court. And for those born after 2001 trade centre attacks, I can say that life was not as serious as it is today. Those sit coms represented the general sense of positive feelings that was interrupted on 9-11. But before that, things were different, we were able to party a lot more, think of a 1970's movie group party, police were a lot more forgiving, drugs were used but they never killed anyone, pressure in school was less. Watching these clips reminds me of how carefree we all were, just looking for a laugh.
