Thanks Mike yeah he was some happy to have it done. He fished it last season and had a few bugs go fix over this past winter but I think he has it dialed in now.

Mac that was awesome thanks for sharing this with us I love how you carried the video out to the point where he's pulling up a lobster trap. Would have freaked me out to fly my drone out over that water though....

Thanks SBF, yeah I was a bit nervous with it out there LOL

Thats a little different setup than the river tow boats I work on. What size engine is that? Looks like a Cummins.
@macfarms2 жыл бұрын
Yeah its a 700hp qsm11 Cummins

😮just how long did it take to move that motor?? The grass was green when you started and it's snowing and you still don't have it in.
@macfarms3 ай бұрын
Motor just went in the shop when it arrived not right into the boat lol
Nice one Scott 🙂👍 what motor is on it and I guess the harbour ain't that far. 🤔👍

Thanks Calum, he's got a 700hp QSM11 Cummins in it. Harbour is just a few km up the road.
@calumanderson56172 жыл бұрын
I thought the harbour wasn't that far 🙂 great choice of engine you don't want to be stuck in the middle of the sea if it was a Paccar as Warren from Western truck and tractor repair would tell you how much he hates them. 😄👍

lol I was trying to get him to put a 1200hp Scania in but he wouldn't hear tell of it, Cummins or oars I think was the only options

Nice boat! Scott what is the beam? 14ft or 16ft? Looks like you have radar on it as well? Bob

16'8 if I remember right, he's well equipped. Lol

@@macfarms wow, she should ride nice in heavy seas.

@@Blueriverfarms yeah he says it handles the choppy stuff pretty well. He fishes halibut out a fair distance so he wanted something a little bigger than his old boat, that one was 35x13 I think

No plans for anything like that. I'm not really involved with that, prefer to be firmly on land lol

Hello, Nice boat! May I know your boat length, beam and depth?

It's 45x16'8 unsure of depth. The hull is built by Dixon Marine.

My buddy up in Bathurst had a 45’ Provincial built about five years ago and loves it. 900hp Volvo pushes it along pretty slick!
@macfarms2 жыл бұрын
Oh I bet, this one is 700hp, it goes a long pretty good he's happy with it. I don't think it sees much past 1500rpm anyway lol
@peewee.31382 жыл бұрын
@@macfarms he cruises at 26 knots. But with the price of fuel, he doesn’t push the throttle down too awful much!
@peewee.31382 жыл бұрын
@@macfarms he told me that he burns about 140 litres a day in his spring season in the Bay of Chaleur. In his summer/fall season down in the Northumberland Strait, he burns over 500 litres a day.
@macfarms2 жыл бұрын
26 knots is movin, I think this one he's getting 15-16 knots wide open with the basket around the blade, would go better without that. Cummins didn't really have anything with more power, not sure if he would have went bigger if he could or not. There is definitely some fast boats around now, a lot more than there was years ago.
