That metal gift you got is actually a tuning fork used in health care to assess hearing! You hit it and place the stem on top of the head and you should hear the sound in both ears. Also used for something called the Rinne Test for hearing in the medical field. How funny it does vibrate a lot and it can be soothing!😂
