Really nice video. 👍 This is the best one I have seen Magsafe 2 cable replacement, carefully removing charger brick parts without damaging. I have One question. What is the glue you are using to hold the two peices back together?

Thank you for your comment. I used Pattex Super Glue to glue the parts. You can use different brands with the same properties. www.amazon.com.tr/Pattex-177767-Pattex-SK-3-gr/dp/B07BTLFSLV?th=1

Why did you replace the cable in the first place , is it because it was getting super hot while charging . My cable connector gets super hot while charging , and it’s broken in the middle of the wire too .

I changed it because of the possibility of damaging the computer. Cable is broken near the connector. If the cable or adapter is overheating, it is usually necessary to check whether there is a short circuit. The quality of the cable is very important.

I replaced the MagSafe 2 Cable on my 60w cable. But when i charge it on my Macbook pro 13 inch. The system report shows the charger as an 85w charger. Later i found out the one wire chip inside the connector is responsble for holding the details on the charger from its serial number and wattage. But I'm not sure if the chip is also responsible for regulating the wattage on the charger. Because I dont think the 60w charger can really supply a 85w out. or cant it? So can you please let me know if the chip in the connector can regulate the wattage as the computer reads the charger as an 85w charger even thought the charger is a 60w charge. I'm scared if the replaced chord does give out a higher wattage. My laptop could get damaged.

The power value written on your charger represents the maximum power that the device can provide. The chip in the connector has no role in adjusting voltage and current. Have a nice day.

Hi, Will the Customer care change the cable only as the wire has torn in middle but charger is fine🙏🙏 or will they insist in buying an entire new charger macsafe45w of 7500/- US$ 90.00

Hi, If there is only a problem with the cable, it is enough to change the cable. If the service does not want to replace it, you can replace the cable yourself. Reusing an expensive adapter with a simple repair is a very sensible decision, both financially and environmentally.

I had an original charger that was fully functional and a "good quality" fake charger that was also fully functional except that it caused the trackpad to be irresponsive when plugged in. The original's cable was starting to rip apart so I decided to remove the cable from the original and replace it with the cable/tip on the fake one. I took the charger to a guy who had a soldering iron so that he could perform the surgery but while he was melting the solder, he ended up touching and losing a small chip (a resistor i think). After the mess was done, I took it to an IT repair shop and they installed back the original cable and it worked just fine, I used it for about an hour, worked fine. But then I asked them to replace the original cable with the fake one and it didn't work. I tried with 2 different fake cables and none of them worked -but the original one did-. What could be the issue ? I saw many people on youtube randomly buying cables from aliexpress, ebay and amazon and none of them had compatibility issues so I don't understand how this could be an issue

You need to buy the cable according to the model number of the computer and power adapter. For example, the model number of the adapter seen in the video is A1424.

Nope, I'm not gonna change the cable, I'll buy a new charger. No way I'm going to fry my Mac because of $50 charger.

If you have the appropriate tools and skills for this job, you can easily change the cable. In this way, we changed dozens of cables and had no problems.

This is exactly what Apple is counting on: that you will not fix your stuff but instead keep buying. And you will increase e-waste because of that and keep lining Apple's pockets with money.
