I’ve got an M1 MacBook Air space grey 512GB with 8GB of ram it’s plenty fast for me. I’ve had it for nearly 3 years and still working very well.

Well I can't say anything else but agree, I upgraded from a 2011 15 inch to the 2021 16 inch M1 Pro and it's an absolute behemoth of a laptop, as architecture student, is one of the best if not the best computer I've ever owned

*the screen is very similar, but not the same. the only difference being they nearly halved the response time. might not sound like a big deal but it was ATROCIOUS in the 2021 mbps at 40+ms, which led to a lot of ghosting. the newer ones are much better.
