I’m thinking of getting a MacBook Pro again. I’m not trying to spend more then $2,200. What’s the best spec set up I should do? I need it to work on a clothing-line and edit music videos what should I get ? I want to also try to learn how to do some basic stuff with 3D. I was told to not get a 2018 to get a older one. Apple has a great price ratio for base models, but gets way too expensive with upgrades. Get a base model macbook pro 15 and you ll be fine

Apple hasn't updated the non touchbar MacBook, so it's does not worth to get at all. Either buy the new MacBook with touchbar, or wait for a couple of months. There are some rumours that apple will release a cheaper MacBook which will replace the MacBook Air or the 12 inch MacBook.

If you dont mind the touch bar it may be. The touchbar model comes with the 8th generation of intel as well as being quad-core. The true tone technology is also in the touchbar one. Its up to you really.

I have had my late 2016 for almost two years now. I’m a touch typist and I’m always forgetting I have the touch bar. I do use the fingerprint unlock most of the time. It unlocks better than my iPhone 7 Plus.

and with ALL The Money you spend on an overprice Mac (disgruntled Apple fan here..) they STILL can't manage to provide adaptors for the USB-C ports that they force you to use.. instead of having connectivity options to connect various devices to your "pro" machine. ..don't mind my rant here. You spend 2-8k on a laptop.. you'd think they could throw in some adaptors. it's downright disrespectful. drives me crazy. just like with the iPhone. 2 steps forward in power, 2 steps back in day-to-day sensibility. Some people have wired earbuds that sound 100x better than any garbage blutooth nonsense.. and some people don't want to be forced to carry a dongle with them everywhere they take their headphones, increasing the amount of things in their pockets from 2 to 3.. for something so simple. I don't have any USB-C products to use with these new Macs. I have USB 2.0, HDMI, mini DVI, etc. . and can't connect ANY of them to this machine. I'm not even seeing music hardware come with USB-C cords yet. I'll continue to wait to buy a new Mac, while my 10yr old MacBook does what I need it to do with the devices I have, and while newer devices catch up and start working with USB-C. so dumb.

Cool video - liking your work more and more each time I watch. Thorough technical specs. I think this is the one I'm going to finally buy. I skipped the launch version (will always be the slowest & tends to be the most glitchy and error prone) and the 2017 version. They'll likely do two more after this one before making another design change with an "all new" macbook pro.

No. Franck is right. 100% more is like x2 because it's 100% more than the basic performance so it's the base plus 100% of the base so twice the base or x2. 200% more is x3, 50% more is x1.5,etc...Just simple maths a 8 year old child is able to understand.

I will be entering high school (I'm also planning to use it in uni), and owning a laptop is a requirement because we use it on a daily basis for the classes and also the computer lab got damaged so there are no computers to work on. Great video! Once I've got rid of my existing MacBook Pro (2016) I will go for another 15" 2.6- 6 core, 32GB ram, and maybe 1TB of SSD. I use thunderbolt 3 external drives with my iMac Pro and they are beasts. So huge internal storage isn't necessary for me. I have 3 Akitio Thunder 3 Quad units with two of them in RAID 0 and the last one is my backup unit.

That pricing is wrong for USD. It might be the conversion rate based on UK pricing but a maxed out 15" model in the USA is $6800 USD.
