I’m surprised they still allow smoking aboard ship. At least limit it to outside only! I live in BC Canada where we have a very large fleet of ferries. there is no smoking on board any of them. Some customers are not happy with this but, generally speaking, it has been well accepted for a number of years now. Occasionally a bunch of young people will decide they are going to smoke regardless of the rules. They are usually told to put the cigs out, but whatever they choose to do, they are usually met by police at the dock,given another lecture & a hefty fine. In some instances, they can be barred from using the ferry service for a period of time. Moral of the story? If you don’t like the terms of passage, don’t use the system. It’s best for all passengers.
