HOW TO: Bollywood Bridal Makeup | MAC Cosmetics

Director of Makeup Artistry Mickey Contractor creates a fantasy wedding look for the Bollywood bride’s big day!

Eyes: Eye Shadow x 15: Warm Neutral, 7 Lash, Pro Longwear Fluidline In Dip Down, Modern Twist Kajal Liner In Squid, In Extreme Dimension Waterproof Mascara
Skin: M·A·C Studio Moisture Cream, Prep + Prime Fix +, M·A·C Studio Fix Fluid SPF 15, M·A·C Studio Conceal and Correct Palette in Medium, Blot Powder/Loose In Medium, Powder Blush In Gingerly, Sculpting Powder In Shadester, Mineralize Skinfinish Natural In Dark, Cream Colour Base In Hush
Brows: Eye Shadow in Espresso, Big Brow Pencil in Spiked
Lips: Lip Pencil in Plum, Lipstick in Ruby Woo, Lipstick in Relentlessly Red
BRUSHES: 209 Brush, 219 Brush, 217 Brush, 168 Brush, 116 Brush, 316 Brush
STEPS:
1. Prep your skin with foundation, concealer and powder. Fill in and shape brows if necessary.
2. Start by using Pro Longwear Fluidline in Dip Down with a 209 Brush on the upper lash line and blend upwards and outwards with the 219 Brush before the product dries.
3. Contour and blend the eye with Eye Shadow in Amber Lights from the Eye Shadow x 15: Warm Neutral Palette using a fluffy 217 Brush.
4. Apply Dance in the Dark Eye Shadow from the Eye Shadow x 15: Warm Neutral palette to the outer corners of the eye, then clean the brush off and blend.
5. Line the lower waterline with Modern Twist Kajal Liner in Squid.
6. Trimming the ends of them prior to application, if necessary, apply 7 Lash to the upper lashes. Add In Extreme Dimension Waterproof Mascara in Dimensional Black to blend the false and real lashes.
7. Touch-up the under eye area with Blot Powder/Loose In Medium and a 168 Brush to set.
8. Blend Eye Shadow in Dance in the Dark on the lower lash line using a 219 Brush to intensify the look.
9. Apply Powder Blush in Gingerly with a 116 Brush to the apples of the cheeks, blending up toward the hairline. Tap Cream Colour Base in Hush along the tops of the cheekbones using fingers and blot with a sponge.
10. Apply Sculpting Powder in Shadester toward the outer side of the cheekbone with the 116 Brush. Warm up the face and contour jawline with the same brush using Mineralize Skinfinish Natural in Dark.
11. Line the lips with a colour slightly darker than the lip, such as Lip Pencil in Plum, then fill in with Lipstick in Ruby Woo using a 316 Brush.
12. Take Lipstick in Relentlessly Red on the finger and dab in centre of lips for a pop of colour.
13. Finish the look by dusting Eye Shadow in Amber Lights on centre of eyelids.

I don't want to sound mean, but this is one of the very few channels that has restored my faith in makeup. I'm sick of watching "drag makeup" all over KZbin and Instagram spreading like wildfire for the past few years. It's truly soothing to the eye what the artists in this channel do. Such talent and such magical products (been obsessed for more than a decade, with Studio Fix Powder being my holy grail for I don't know how many years now!). My only recommendation is that, I hope MAC would sometimes consider using models that are not as perfectly beautiful as Indira - I almost thought she was Sonam Kapoor. Haha!

Here in Pakistan we have similar brides and honestly. It's hard to see one that looks this flawless. Regular saloons just make every bride look the same by caking on the same white base, blush overload etc. High end makeup artists do tend to match skin tones better and all that, but the makeup still feels like too much. Like Nikkie Tutorials lol. I don't think I've come across any Pakistani makeup artist that gets the whole less is more, enhance not mask, thing. And it pisses me off. This guy is AMAZING.

Nandini Sinha what does that mean? This model is darker than the women in my family and we are 100% Haryanvi. Does that mean we're no longer Indian? 😂 I would say she's medium/dark for Indian whereas the other Indian model (in the other MAC Indian bridal tutorial) is medium/light for Indian. Indians range in skin tone.

I think I have a love/hate relationship with Mickey Contractor. I love him for showing me exactly what colours I can wear on my Asian skin and how to put it on. I've bought a number of MAC items thanks to Mickey. But I hate getting my credit card bill! What I like most about Mickey is, he doesn't overdo makeup and tries use really really less product to get their maximum effective efforts. This prove that you don't have to put layers of makeup to look flawless. He just actually intensifies your natural beauty and that's all. This is beyond beautiful. I have watched so many make up artists who actually put kilos of make up, even for eye make they use like 4 different pallets. And to be honest that is so pathetic and time consuming and looks super made-up. Where in this video he use only three shades for eye makeup and it's done perfectly. Wow..

What a fabulous video, beautiful job, wonderful makeup artist. He has the whole more is less thing down pat, even when using a more dramatic color like red on the lips. Slight contouring, not overdoing the highlighting, did not hear anything about BAKING the eyes to death, which in my opinion, unless you are under 30 years old tends to bake those wrinkles, laugh lines,etc., right in there also,lol! Definitely interested in seeing more of this artist, he is fabulous. I subscribed and also plan on buying the red lip products and brown eye he LL, the shadows as well 😀 Thanks
