The Tower Called "shahyad Tower" is a monument located on Azadi Square in Tehran, Iran. It is one of the landmarks of Tehran, marking the west entrance to the city, and is part of the Azadi Cultural Complex, which also includes an underground museum. The tower is about 45 meters (148 ft) tall and is completely clad in cut marble. It was commissioned by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, the last Shah of Iran, to mark the 2,500th year of the foundation of the Imperial State of Iran and completed in 1971. After winning a competition, architect Hossein Amanat was tasked to design the tower. His ideas were based upon classical and post-classical Iranian architecture, popular influences on art in the 1960s following the White Revolution. Iran's increasing wealth sparked modernization programs and sent the art industry into a Renaissance-like period.

I can't believe you've even covered this song. Oh my lord ❤ Respect. Also the tank in the beginning signifies the war between Iran and Iraq, and the many many lives lost to defend the country soil from the enemy invasion. Which was successful in the end. When they sing about "not having talked about war with you", it signifies the silence, the pain, the hardship and sadness that these people have lived with all their lives that was never brought up again, never talked about, sort of brushed underneath the rug. There are many words, many sentences in this song that have more deeper meanings(sort of like a double entendre). But I believe, the entirety of the song is to introduce you (the listener) to who we (Iranians) are, apart from the things you hear in the news and the corrupted image most outsiders (or should I say westerners) see when they think of Iran (all thanks to the corrupted Islamic Regime). Due in part to the Regime's efforts and attempts of keeping the voices of the people quiet and unheard most of these voices are kind of hidden or deeply rooted in the words they sing, but its easy to miss if obviously you aren't too familiar with the persian language or what is going on inside the country. Anyway I love that you're covering so many Persian artists on your channel, it really makes me happy to see it and my respect for your content grows more by every video I watch. Much love to you ❤.

The Tower was called “Shahyad”. It models after and represents a “Zorroasterian Torch or Ever-burning Fire”. After revolution of 1979, they changed the name to “Azadi Square” which means the Freedom Square... In reality it would have been better to call it the “Living/immortal Fire or everlasting Torch”...

"Farhad & Shirin" mentioned in this song is a reference to the title of a famous tragic romance by the Persian poet Nizami Ganjavi (1141-1209), who also wrote Layla and Majnun. It tells a highly elaborated fictional version of the story of the love of the Sasanian king Khosrow II for the Armenian princess Shirin, who becomes queen of Persia. The essential narrative is a love story of Persian origin which was already well known from the great epico-historical poem the Shahnameh and other Persian writers and popular tales.

The militaristic images refer to Saddam's invasion in the 80s narrative. That's why it says "Jang na ...." it means "no to war but it will defend itself". 4. The tower in Tehran is Shahyad/Azadi tower which translates to A memorial for the king/freedom 5 Farhad's love refers to the story of Farhad and Shirin's love. The Persian calendar was 2,540 ish when the last king of iran was in power. I believe it represented the birth of Cyrus the great who wrote the first human rights cylinder . The cylinder is at the British museum and it’s copy is at the entrance of the UN with Cyrus the greats face etc painted in a dome shaped fashion . Cyrus the great freed the Jews from slavery in Babylon . Hence in the Tora his name is mentioned multiple times . After the revolution the Islamic republic changed the calendar back to when the Arabs invaded Persia 1400 yrs ago .

It is 1400 already! Persian Calendar is based on ancient calculations but after Islamic Revolution (or maybe from before I'm not sure of that) The first year is calculated based on Prophet Muhammad's departure from Meca to Medina.
