Very interesting topic. Learning a language has a lot to do with your attitude and how you rate it. SA white people can easily learn french because they higly regard the french people but considers SA languahes to be beneath them. Self hate and tribalism also plays s role even amongst us as black people. Many can prefer to learn Isi Zulu (giving the excuses that it's the most spoken in the country) or Setswana compared to a language from Limpopo like Xitsonga or Tsivenda beacause that is beneath them and nobody can wish to associate with something or someone they undermine.

Today's episode of PNC gave me the strength to address the pronunciation of my name. My Mossel Bay people calls me KG and my name is *_Kga-o-ge-lo (Kgaogelo)_*, I know I did say it's fine for them to call me KG to make it easier for you to pronounce but I actually don't like it. When a pedi, Tswana and Sotho person join the company I work at I introduce myself to them as Kgaogelo and get mad when they call me KG. My name means Grace/Mercy it is a special name to me especially that I know why they named me "Kgaogelo ya Modimo" meaning "God's grace"
