Good things are coming her & Nota's way. I once had a girl similar to Berita(She prays for you, she wants you to be at peace, puts your feelings first etc). A similar situation happened, I started off sane, and sound, supportive, loving, and willing to go the extra mile for my girl, doing everything I could. But one traumatic experience awakened memories, past traumas & feelings of animosity & resentment towards the people around me, especially those I love & lookout for the most. It almost felt like they owed me all the stuff I sacrificed for them. It felt like my family owed me the life dreams I abandoned for their sake, like my girl opportunities I missed way back in high school that would've gotten me where I wanted to be, my friends felt like intruders, etc & etc. It felt like me Vs the world, but really was just me Vs myself. Long story short, I became someone synonymous to a bipolar patient, and my wake up call was when I realized that she couldn't save me but also didn't want to leave, I saw that she was either gonna drown with me or save me, but how could I let her drown with me?.,,, I had tried writing her letters explaining all these things but I'd just go in circles so I just blurted out the words that were gonna push her away...hoping to one day anonymously explain better,. then things ended between us. I went through the most all the healing I needed, turned over a new leaf, got to understand why I was acting the way I was that way & broke everything down and was able to rebuild my psychological state......I finally got the peace she wanted for me, but the only way she could give it to me was to sacrifice our relationship, it seemed like a lose-lose situation back then but its always been a win-win. Last time we spoke she had graduated with flying colors in BOTH the things I told her to hold on to when I told her to let go of me.... read that line again. Bottom line is, I'm happy for her, I know she's happy for me and great things are happening for the both of us. Forever proud & grateful for all we had, Ama-zing!!!!

Wow, I just went through something similar only he left me, I know I would have stayed because he’s going through things he doesn’t want to talk about. I’ve seen it but I can’t help him, this I know now but it hurts because I always find a way to blame myself. We’re not talking now but he still has me on his contacts. I always pray for him but at times feel like loving him is dishonoring myself, I don’t know. This is good self awareness.

That’s so true 😂😂😂 his whole family especially his mum and his whole entire circle was thrilled, only for me to realise years later that they knew he was trash with alcoholism issues, stagnant mindset, no future, and of-course cheating!! They were pushing so hard for us to marry have kids and settle down in the early stages before I realised that no man . Thank God I got out one woman 😂no kids no failed marriage

We do. Zim is a small country especially when we stand next to SA…we get overshadowed. If you had dug deeper she’d say how we love her. The other thing is she has built her career SA side so her sound has a SA nuance (which is great…but it pits her against other SA artists of similar ilk and that’s heavy competition). Then there’s also the thing of the artists we have this side doubling down on the Zim nuance/sound and thus are building a bigger fan base locally for themselves. I won’t mention names here as this is about Berita today. But either way…she’s still one of the artists we love and appreciate (even the father of Zimbabwean music, Tuku, mentored her)

Having a song with Tuku on your debut gets you immediately into being known in Zimbabwe. However, like l explained her music has a South African grounding and that pits her with other South African artists…and there are quite a few as South Africans are very talented singers. So in the end she becomes just one of many… …but that doesn’t mean we do not know her. Far from it.
