You should sell the pattern for the bag like Adam does I’ve bought all his patterns and made a couple bags for myself with my own materials it’s an awesome option

I'm seconding this. If large-scale manufacturing is not an option, ok, but this is just too good of a design to be unobtainium.

If she wants to sell it in Germany, over 100 would be too much. We like to spend money on usefull things, but 100+ is too much. A bag this size should be approx between 60 and 80. Lovely idea Laura! Maybe add a removable liner to the magical parts pocket? That way, greasy parts won't make the pocket permanently greasy and make all your future finds greasy too! You could use button snaps, so the liner can be popped off and go into the washing machine. You could then snap in a second clean pocket liner and go out hunting again!
@TK88662752 ай бұрын
That detachable liner could be actually a larger bag, either tote or even backbag folded in half and made from some relatively thin but strong material like rip-stop nylon. If Laura manages to find something bigger or more items, she'd already got alternative carry option with her and she didn't had to discard something usable just because it don't fit in the fanny pack.

"Emotional Support Tool Roll" (ESTR) - pronounced like 'Esther.' Meaning of the name 'Esther': The name Esther is believed to be derived from the Hebrew root s-t-r, meaning "to hide," which reflects the Persian queen's concealed identity. Alternatively, it's linked to the Old Persian word stāra, meaning "star," which connects to the Near Eastern goddess Ishtar. So, a bag named after something that means both 'hide' and 'star'-perfect for discreetly stashing your cool street finds while shining bright in your unique way! I absolutely love it!

I had a small ratcheting screwdriver years ago with different "heads" for different screws. It was palm sized (for a female hand.) And I LOVED IT ! Adam's 4-in-1 screwdriver is nice, but at least here in Canada, the Pic-Quik screwdriver has 7 bits and 2 nut drivers in about the same size, very durable, not too expensive. You might be able to order one in. Of course, two of the bits are Robertson/square drive, which is everywhere in Canada but not as common in America, but you could just swap in any type of bit since it uses standard 1/4" hex drive.

As you know, Laura, with daily use, you will find ways to tweak and perfect the design. Iterate that prototype first so you aren’t forcing the iteration upon your most loyal fans. Certainly don’t OVERthink it… but certainly don’t UNDERthink it and rush things to market. Calling it an emotional support tool roll is awesome. With that awesomeness comes a huge responsibility to follow through on a promise. It’s no longer just a simple bag when it takes on that level of gravity! Have you already found the ideal supplier (bulk discount) for things like that ratchet strap closure? I have a Timbuk2 bag that is still going strong after nearly 20 years. As I’m sure you know, that thing is the gold standard because it was iterated by bike messengers for bike messengers. I want to know more about the decisions you make over materials and reinforced stitches and such. I love your commitment to your design aesthetic. I want to see more of the proof that only iteration can provide. Thank you as always for your effort to create wonderful content. Cool project, Laura. Perhaps a safety consideration: Maybe consider making the tool roll its own, removable thing, so you don't have to completely take the pouch off and completely unfold it, just to get to a tool. Unfolding the whole thing on an urban street makes all your contents pretty vulnerable. Sad that we need to think about these things, but such is city life these days.
