Thank you for this. I am now convinced to purchase Mach4. Support like this (simple, concise and accurate) was the defining factor in my decision.

Can you home the axis in the "negative" direction, or does it always want to go in a positive direction for all axis?

I'm using mach3 on a plasma table. when i set the soft limits the table on mach3 is way off. I am running my X,Y,Z axes in reverse because of where I am zeroing the table. do I need to swap my motor wires in order for the soft limits in mach3 to work properly?

Hello, Your machine needs to be following the right-hand rule or very little will work as you expect it to. The steps outlined in this video will work whether your are using Mach3 or Mach4. Home your machine to establish the 0,0,0 position in machine coordinates, then find the upper and lower boundaries for each axis. You will need to enable soft limits and turn them on using the Soft Limits button (near your DROs on the default screen). Zeroing out your work coordinates does not affect your soft limits because they are based on your machine coordinate system. If you have any additional questions, you can submit a ticket at support.machsupport.com and I'm happy to help. -Bryanna

When you set up homing with switches, do you want z to be "0" at the full up position or full down (using offset)?
@MachSupportOfficial6 жыл бұрын
Typically, you would want to home up and away from your work surface. There are some exceptions, but that's the most common position for the Z home switch.

Hi Bryanna, as first thx for all your tutorials. Very helpful :-) Is it correct that the script to turn on soft limits automatically after homing is not working on Industrial version? Test it on my profile and also on a fresh installed build 3481 but without sucess. It works exelent on Home version.

This script works in Hobby and Industrial. If you'd like to submit a support ticket to support.machsupport.com with your packaged profile, I can take a look and see what needs to be fixed.
