This is such a great useful valuable study of self defense, ancient arts, and high level modern combat sport!

Yea it’s very reminiscent of the Muay Thai knee with some slight differences but used quite similarly. Very underrated channel love the content.

O karate machida é shotokan ou goju ryu? Seja um ou outro, é sinônimo de excelência, eficiência e competência.

Love your videos. I show them to my students all the time and love the knee strike. I will show this video and use it in our next kumite class. I'm third degree black belt in Karate in the SF Bay Area just north of you guys. I also trained for a while Muay Thai kickboxing and no Gi BJJ. I think Karate/BJJ makes a great combo for MMA.

Hey Chinzo Sensei! Would this type of interception be applicable against those low, long distance chudan Gyaku Zuki you often see in the point tournament scene (apart from the fact that in those bouts, obviously the Hiza Geri would be illegal)?

It’s harder to apply against gyaku zuki chiudan in order the straight punch is coming towards to your body.

Intercept a Step and punch. You know it is possible to punch then step like fencing. That technique may not work with a punch then step.
