Phil was a true musical genius, and the band Thin Lizzy is still one of the absolute, greatest rock bands of all time! RIP Phil and Philomena

Watching this makes me almost want to cry. Phil was such a talented man, a gentle soul and he died so young. God! We lost so many.....

You couldn't be more correct..... Almost nobody knows Thin Lizzy in America, other than"The boys are back in town", but when you say it's a Thin Lizzy song they be like "Who?"

What I don't like about this particular documentary is that it implies Thin Lizzy weren't particularly successful. I f I knew nothing about Thin Lizzy and watched this, I would think "What's the point?". In actual fact, they were very big in the UK and Ireland and for the most part still are. Not huge mind you, but big. This makes you think they had about two or three songs and nothing else.

Gary Moore saying that it was a novelty for Phil to write a song that wasn't about sex, drugs or rock n roll (Sarah) is a disgrace. Gary was never properly into Lizzy, his head was always too big other wise he might have heard any of Lizzy's first three albums and not make such stupid comments.

Emerald, Massacre, Fight or Fall, Dear Lord, Fool’s Gold… So many disprove Gary Moore’s “theory.” Great guitarist but that’s a false observation.

Drugs, especially heroin will isolate you, you don't want to hear someone telling you, you need help, the miserable cycle of heroin is all consuming, I mean every thought, every waking and even while you nod, I mean sleep, your dreams are dope. It's a living hell.

But Sabbath and zepplin were better than purple , Lizzy blew em all away apart from the later albums.

Lizzy finally nominated for hall of fame, but don't get your hopes up because they are up against extremely iconic rock n roll artists......like Notorious B.I.G. , Whitney Houston and Chaka Khan. WTF !?....🙄🙄

that's were it starts to suck, when you go from a struggling musician just trying to write some music to being responsible for 200 people in the enterprise. what a load of crap.

This doc tries too hard to cut a long story short. Robertson wasn't fired at the time of his injury, he was back (on tour at least) after he recovered, if only until 1978. Furthermore it skips straight to his marriage and personal problems without even giving Live & Dangerous a look! Very USocentric if you ask me. Just because you've only had one hit in the States doesn't mean you're a failure.
