@@philclip23 its all speculation of mine lmao I've just never met someone who hasnt irl and notice many people do or comment about it on these type of songs including myself, I've always speculated it's like an auditory stimulant that forces out intrusive or racing thoughts because of how spastic or intricate the beats, melodies, and especially drum breaks are when they're going 160-200 bpm. mellow spacious music leaves space to think about things other than the music, but studying to some aphex twin, venetian snares, sewerslvt, squarepusher etc. I'll finish a book report in an hour with my mind on nothing but the report because the music fills in the space where those off-topic thoughts would want to come in.
