I feel like a lot of people don’t know this so, let me explain: The title Out By 16, Dead On The Scene is more than likely a reference to the movie ‘Ginger Snaps’. In the movie, two death obsessed sisters make their own death pact and their catch phrase is “out by 16 or dead on the scene, together forever”. In the movie, Bridgette (one of the sisters, who is a ginger) gets torn apart by a werewolf but is miraculously healed. However, she now possessed the powers and abilities of a werewolf and has a desire to kill, starts howling at the moon, etc. The sample at the beginning of this track is also a line from ‘Ginger Snaps’. Admittedly, I have no clue what part of the movie it’s from. Although this is just a simple interlude track, I feel like that right there might explain the whole meaning behind the album name “Wolf Girl”.
