Y’all confused at the song choice but Marilyn Manson did cover songs like Sweet Dreams and Tainted Love and those were poppy songs . He probably just wanted to hear it in different tone . And I vibe with him for that .

That's So Lyssa the lyrics are emo, it’s very fitting for a cover of this kind. I don’t know why people are confused either. Pop or not, if the lyrics work they can be made into hit songs in multiple genres.

You are aware that he's a performance artist and mm is a character not a real person . most of the time he's a man who hears the same shit playing every time he goes in gas station or grocery store as we do and possibly has sisters and ahandful of nieces who he lets pick the music when they are together? He isn't some a warrior god from outer space or whatever KISS says they are when in costume.. They all are people under there with lives and families and.. Ears I know he has expressed admiration in the past for lady Gaga so I wouldn't be surprised if he likes Rihanna, she sings great, is a little dark sometimes, and idk what she wears lately but I remember some badass theatric shit like that mad max looking music video and some kinda kinky stuff back in the day and he did an interview when Gaga was fairly new still about what a true artist she is, she got sent in an ambulance to the hospital from a concert and she insisted that she pull herself out of the bed ditch the sweats and go out in full lady Gaga glory because lady Gaga went in so lady Gaga comes out, yet she does her other stuff not in costume. The dedication to the artistry and the character being a seperate entity, like him and Marilyn Manson. Rihanna only has Rihanna but I can see things he (not the character but him) could see in her

his husky and manly voice gives a special touch to the lyrics.
@sashka93994 жыл бұрын
Husky and manly? I guess this is where manhood has fallen. How the hell can you consider this voice manly? It sounds like an average early 2000s emo rock band teenager voice. Sinatra had a manly voice, Johnny Cash, Pavarotti..Hell even Mercury had a manlier voice, which is just sad...
@loganmillizer15874 жыл бұрын
She’s just referring to the lil raspiness
@sashka93994 жыл бұрын
@Daniel Casmir Sinatra and Johnny Cash were also baritones but they were legit ones. This guy is just a knock off, a copy of all those 2000s-2010s emo pop-rock bands which are basically boy bands for edgy teens. Late greenday, late blink182, fall out boy, kings of leon, nickleback etc. No different than "artists" like One direction. If he likes that stuff and wants to release it then all good, do what you want but that comment complimenting his voice triggered me, cause from what I've seen originality seems to be dieng. Even when people release something that has been done so many times or is just an inferior copy people will still say stuff like "wow thats so unique". And thats the problem. If people keep liking the same shit released over and over by different people then shit is just gonna get rehashed forever..

@illyanaamara85364 жыл бұрын
There are many...many more people who've made that mistake. Em was actually a big enough inspiration to mgk that he covered lose yourself back in the day. I think it hurt him to be getting knocked by someone he used to respect so much...i mean...a mumble rapper? C'mon. Lol. Besides, I distinctly remember em saying, " ill be God damned if another rapper gets in my ass," in cinderella man...yeah...i think he just needed some publicity by beefing with a bunch of other rappers. Definitely would not be his first time doing that.
@illyanaamara85364 жыл бұрын
I actually gained some respect for mgk just for having the balls to say what he did. Sure, some shit was inaccurate, but so were some of Ems insults. There were fair points on either side but I ended up losing respect for eminem out of the whole ordeal. It was like hed never even listened to mgk and didn't really give a shit if what he said made sense. Kind of made me sad. With how much the two actually have in common, you would think he would want to help bring up rappers like him as opposed to put then down.
@thildefredriksen13314 жыл бұрын
Dude same. Still a huge fan of Em, that’ll never change, but MGK is definitely another of my favorites now. To be honest I didn’t even know who he was until that whole thing went down, so in that sense thank god it did! I don’t think any of them are in the wrong, they’re just on different planets in terms of where they are in their careers. MGK is more genre fluid, and I fucking love him for that. Mixing my two favorite genres, what a legend.
