It's dangerous for technical vocalists to range into their emotions. It hardens up the larynx and thus, makes the voice sound more raw. But, this guy took a risk at the expense of something very true and very passionate. My respects out to Rob Flynn.

I haven't listened to this song in about 8 years, and haven't really listened to much metal in that time either. I wouldn't even have a clue where all my metal CDs are anymore. But for the last 3 weeks those first 4 screamed lines just have not been able to escape my head. "Always our souls entwine/Erase this vast divide/Deaf ears, our voices rest/Tyrant this is protest" I had to do something about it, so I came here. As soon as that opening arpeggio started playing, I got instant shivers. As a listener moves through the vast array of genres in the world of music, a lot gets listened to, enjoyed, and then forgotten about. But the true masterpieces, they stay with you for life.

That's funny, I've always thought the lyrics were a bit cringeworthy on every song from this album, with the exception of Wolves and A Farewell To Arms. 'For the love of brother I will sing this fucking song Aesthetics Of Hate I hope you rot in hell' Not exactly Nick Cave. I understand that Flynn was just expressing his anger about that impossibly stupid article on Dimebag's death, but it's still a bit much to me.

This song is a fucking masterpiecem and I agree on everything which Robb says in this song. He has a pretty nice understanding on how this world works. And i really enjoy his hatred for the media and society. This song just wakens something inside of me, something deep inside, thr basic feeling of what is right and wrong. When fathers have to bury their childs and their mothers cry then there is something wrong in this world. The lyrics of this song are just so strong but kinda still simple, you can say this message simple like "war sucks" or you csn do it like mh and say in a way which makes everybody feel. All hail machine fucking head, this is a voice of a new generation or rather a new modern way of thinking.

+Syrus Opliger I think I prefer Halo to this but I fucking love them both. The thing with Machine Head is that they have a handful of songs that aren't that great, but for every one of them they have like 5 absolute gems, I only just started listening to Machine Head after a very very long time, and even then I never really got into them that much (I got the Supercharger album and I just found most of the songs kinda boring/similar), but I already love them just because of Imperium, A Farewell To Arms, Clenching The Fists Of Dissent, Wolves, (basically every song on The Blackening really), Halo, Now We Die, Locust, etc. And they came to Manchester the other day, but I wasn't able to catch them as I didn't hear about it in time, again, because I only just got back in to them, so I'm pretty fucking gutted, plus I heard they played A Farewell To Arms live for the first time in years, which left me even more gutted, but I'll be sure to catch them next time they come.

Some of the songs on it are pretty good but I just didn't like the nu metal approach, but I allowed them to make that mistake as quite a few bands tried to make that transition (such as Sepultura, which worked very well for them), it was a simple mistake to make really.
