I remember this one. I was 17, and watched the 'Ball every week. The host, Vanessa Warwick was amazing, and the show had some incredible behind the scenes, on the road episodes that, pre internet, were such awesome access to the bands. I recall this episode inwhich they chatted with Lemmy, and Tipton, who's solo album was out. I love happening upon footage of any episodes of the 'Ball like this from the mid-late 90s. Always takes me back, so many thanks to ya for uploading this!

I thought the Headbanger's Ball went off the air in 1995? Also, this is around the time when metal became boring, one-dimensional and turned to shit with down-tuned guitar, growling vocals, and subpar songwriting, and Machine Head is a prime example of that.
@kylereece1979
@kylereece1979 3 жыл бұрын
This is from MTV Europe, inwhich their Headbangers Ball lasted 'till late '97. I dont know how long the Rikki Rachtman fronted show from MTV America lasted until, so is that the one you are thinking of that ended in '95? The Euro version of the 'Ball was in general very good. The host, Vanessa Warwick was great,and It featured and focused lots of metal that went beyond what was on the front pages of the magazines. Even though it was gettin into the NuMetal era, classic metal was still doing business in mainland Europe so you got that aswell. I remember this particular episode . They showed Mtv Studio performances by Cradle of Filth and Cathedral, inwhich Robb remarked that you just wouldnt see stuff like that on Mtv America.

@@hinjurock70 By the end of '97, This version of the 'Ball was sadly lost aswell. We got 'SuperRock' instead. Whiich I think was based on an American substitute for their Headbangers Ball aswell? Either way, SuperRock was no good. You could tell that the "host" knew nothing about metal and mostly the videos were all current stuff at the time. None of the genuine research and good work that Vanessa from the Euro 'Ball did. Pity. Again, the Euro 'Ball was great. There's some full episodes here from '94-96 that were from the Festivals at the time. Dynamo '95, Monsters of Rock. Well worth watching. Interviews and live stuff that might appeal to ya.
