You're a great teacher. Thank you, I enjoy your videos. The video quality is clear and not fuzzy, well lit and so much easier to watch what you are doing up close, and the sound is clear. Much easier to see and hear.

Thank you for your very clear demonstration, I’m a new machine knitter and finding the whole process. Very confusing. I’ve watched other videos and I just could not grasp what was been shown, I thought it was me , until I found your very clear demonstrations and now I fully understand what needs to be done. Thank you again

Can you do a tutorial on shaping a scooped neckline using partial knitting or short rows? Thanks! Your videos are very helpful!!
@knittingonthehook5 жыл бұрын
Hello Didi, because decreasing is required to shape a neckline so the remaining stitches will form the shoulder line, short row shaping would not be the method I would use because it doesn't change the stitch count. I usually cast off a certain number of stitches typically a 1/3 of the combination of neck and shoulders stitches and use a 2 step full fashioned decrease going up on each side of the cast off neckline. It creates a lovely even edge and you can easily pick up stitches later on if required for a neckband. I do use short rows for shaping the shoulders especially if knitting a set in sleeve garment. It creates a nice slope and minimize any extra fabric in the underarm for a nice fit. There might be other methods that I'm not aware of to do a neckline but this is how I do mine using a combination of cast off and decrease :)

Would this be used for a v neck sweater or would I need to do decreases, beginner knitter.
@knittingonthehook24 күн бұрын
Hi! Yes to do a neck shaping you do have to decrease in order to get the right amount of stitches for you neck but also for your shoulders. This would be good if you want to shape the shoulders instead of decreasing. 😊

What does the letter "H" do on your machine?
@knittingonthehook4 жыл бұрын
Hello Zuzana, when the lever on the carriage is placed in H (Hold position) and needles brought forward to E position, the stitches on the E position needles will not be knitted when the carriage passes over.

what kind of machine do you have
@knittingonthehook4 жыл бұрын
Hello Jack, the machine used for this tutorial is 9mm bulky knitking ( brother) kh 260. Great machine for a beginner, lots of room between needles for a clear view, especially when hand manipulating stitches. 😊
