Next up in our Machine Spotlight series, Matt tells us about the Zeiss Eclipse 550 with a ph20 retrofit and Renishaw controls. The biggest benefit of the PH 20 is its ease of programming and ability to inspect infinite angles.
In this video, we demonstrate a 3-point alignment technique on a 3D printed part. By measuring these three points, the system automatically initiates the alignment process. The initial calibration takes approximately 7-8 minutes, but subsequent checks only require about 4 minutes.
The ease of programming is great because you can follow features and create a custom view. The PH20 also flicks on the holes which saves time on a larger machine where the accuracy could get lost. With the PH20, the system consistently chooses the most efficient path, ensuring optimal performance.
