I very much liked the extensive readings during this review. For whatever reason it seemed right. Thanks again.

Fabulous. The quotes you read completely sold me. I’ll need to stick to my self-imposed discipline and bump this one to my 2022 TBR, but I’m IN. 👍🏻

@@LeafbyLeaf 4chan is the culmination of all the worst parts of humanity by virtue of it being a totally anonymous discussion board; there's some good/funny stuff on there sometimes though. There was a thread the other day about booktubers that people would recommend on the literature board (/lit/) and your channel came up a few times.

Bout halfway through “Ice” and was unpleasantly (simply because was almost expectant to find a favored reviewer and subscriber to your channel to which fandom…) to find this video so with bated excitement and intrigue. On with the show 📖

Excellent review as always. And about the tormented soul of author, i felt same about David Foster Wallace. It’s almost unbelievable that a person that disturbed can produce such complex and thought provoking works. On an unrelated note what are your thoughts on Don Quixote?
@LeafbyLeaf
@LeafbyLeaf 4 жыл бұрын
Thanks! Exactly! Don Quixote constantly vies with In Search of Lost Time for my favorite European novel of all time. Here is my video of the first half of the Quixote: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qaPRZqWYbsmpjLM

This is a woman unloved and unsupported in her life who slips the confines of social restraints and free falls into her own sad conclusions. Is she a cautionary tale or the highest form of courage? Wonderful find✅

Which do you prefer: Ice or the short stories contained within Machines in the Head?
@LeafbyLeaf
@LeafbyLeaf 3 жыл бұрын
Hmmmm. I’m going to have to think about that one. If you ask me: With which should I begin? I would say the stories. So, probably I prefer Ice.
