Well that was for sure one of the most annoying background music ever BUT what’s with that surface finish??!!!! AMAZING!!! 🙌🙌🙌 Please post videos with the machine sounds only, would love to hear how it runs! But damn that surface finish!! 😍

Agree fully. Machining sounds are their own perfect symphony.

I too can hear if the feeds and speeds are correct, but getting a good part is what counts. The surface finish you achieved tells me the machine is solid like a rock. 😉

Totally agree, A few moments at normal speed would be nice too.

That surface finish is incredible! Your machine is a beast. If you don’t mind me adding, the background music is really annoying. I’d love seeing more footage of the machine cutting in real time with no music. 😊

Very cool! I would have been concerned about the part moving under cutting forces in OP2 with such little contact area with the vise and machined some soft jaws.
@Svanitterzon
@Svanitterzon 4 жыл бұрын
I have tought about that, but my cuts are still pretty soft. Did a few of these parts and none of them gave trouble.

Believe it or not, vise clamps better with this much contact, than let's say, 2 cm. NYC CNC did a video on this topic.

I think i'm seeing quite a bit of flex / play on the spindle column, is it some weird camera effect or do you know where this comes from ?
@Svanitterzon
@Svanitterzon 4 жыл бұрын
The whole machine is standing on 6 rubber machine pads. But they are a little to soft so when the machine does some rapid moves the whole machines moves. And the camera is on a fixt stand so you can see the colomn move a little.

good morning! What a fantastic machine!!. I am designing one and I am having doubts about the speed that my spindle should have. Could you tell me what is the range of revolutions you can get in your milling machine. Thank you very much and fantastic work!!.
@Svanitterzon
@Svanitterzon 4 жыл бұрын
Currently my spindle is at max 6000rpm. The servo who drives the spindle can run up to 12000rpm.

Stef van Itterzon Thanks a lot!!! If you allow me another question ?: What proportion have you used for concrete? And what dimensions does your concrete column have? I would like to make a similar milling machine, and to know what measures of width and depth you have put to the column Thanks a lot!!!

I've produced literally tens of millions of dollars in parts on CNC milling machines having a maximum spindle speed of 4,200 RPM. Of course, I've also used VMC's with spindles having speeds of 8,000 RPM to 50,000 RPM. A spindle with a maximum speed in the range of 6,000 to 12,000 RPM is good enough for use in a small shop. The lower the investment you can make to achieve acceptable quality and output the more profit you will make. I would rather have 4 spindles turning with each making chips at half the output of a "better quality" CNC that costs 4+ times as much as the cheap machines. Over the years, I've had competitors price themselves out of the market and go bankrupt by investing in expensive machine tools. They were doing fine with less expensive machines but listened to some salesman who was pushing shiny toys to foolish boys.
