I mean... this kind of awesome precision! Much here to learn from for me. Even the drawer that holds the tools are soo precise, i love it, your work is such a great contribution to the Marble Machine X!

Fantastic finishing! Could you make a clamp that would be placed on the shaft to give the same reference - but being longer would give greater accuracy? The backing tracks really makes this, nice touch, (its almost like hes in the room with you)

I also thought about such a clamp. This would be more precise and it wouldn't weaken that keyway. Then I also would use a machinist level for setup. But my method was easier and faster in this case. So I choose that.

Great videos! Thanks for making a English Channel. Could you do a English video over view of your machine?
@AlexCNCen6 жыл бұрын
English version of the overview is planned. But it will take some time until it is done :) Best Alex

Another fine job well done ! ... if I can make a suggestion ... I like to run a 45 deg chamfer pass on all machined edges. From .002 to .005 edge-break takes a little more effort to begin with but reduces labor by letting the machine do the work. The deburred parts will look more professional and be safer to handle ....

Haha! I just watched this in German because it didn't show up on my feed for English!

kmpnelson Me too! At least I had an excuse to watch it twice. *So* satisfying.

Interesting collet system. Can you show some more in a future video? What is the power of your spindle?
@ReiniGrauer6 жыл бұрын
Love your router! Did you make all the parts for the spindle? Do you just have a single belt reduction from the motor to the spindle? I was looking at doing something similar for a router build as lower speed BT30 spindles able to cut steel are very expensive.
@AlexCNCen6 жыл бұрын
Thank you. The shaft was made by a friend because I didn't had a lathe at that time. But the rest I did. Its a single stage belt reduction. If you want to get low RPM just use a "normal" motor with lower rpm instead of such a high speed motor. You can have a look at aliexpress if you want a cheap BT30 spindle for low speeds. But I don't know how good they are.

wow your machine is really good build, id love to see an english overview of your machine, do you maybe have a CAD model of it.
@AlexCNCen6 жыл бұрын
Hi I'm currently working on some English versions of the videos on my German channel. There will be also a video about the milling machine. Unfortunately, the CAD model is broken. Best Alex

A few comments here 1ST what kind of prob is it that you are using here in this video 2ND definitely not necessary to machine soft jaws for holding round stock if you elevate it with a flat piece of scrap to a point no higher than the halfway point of the circumference of the round stock you'll be fine for the simple processes that you were doing here though that vertical one could be handy 3RD what was your process for maintaining parallelism on the shorter shafts from one end to the other or was that now a critical dimension
@AlexCNCen6 жыл бұрын
1. That probe is self build. I'm planning to do a video about it but that may take some time until it is finished. 2. With the soft jaws it was easier to align the shaft when you don't have to take care about the loose spacer. And The softjaws came in handy for other projects. 3.It wasn't that critical. I just put a parallel on the flat spot that was down in the vice. Then I aligned the parallel by eye parallel to the vice jaw Best Alex

did you build the milling machine ? or was it a kit ?
@AlexCNCen6 жыл бұрын
The milling machine is self build. I have planned a video where I show it in detail here on the English channel. There is already a German version available on my other channel (Alex CNC)
