Machir Bay, Islay, with a DJI Phantom Quadcopter

My first Islay video filmed with the DJI Phantom Quadcopter took me to Machir Bay on the west coast of Islay. The flight takes us from the parking area across the dunes to the beach. Once on the beach various views over the beach and surrounding areas can be enjoyed. As it was low tide the old wreck can be seen clearly several time. We finish be flying off into the setting sun.

After the two teasers earlier finally the real thing, my first Islay from the air video. I hope you'll like the Machir Bay from the air views. I'm hoping to do more like this during my next visit in June.

Thank you, great to hear you like it! Villages could be a challenge, as I need to be able to see the quadcopter, but I'll certainly give it a try given a chance. Most importantly I'll need a few calm days during my next visit in June ;-)

Never noticed the old wreck before but I don't go down there as often I would like.

It's only visible at low tide, so you also need to time your visit right. If memory serves me right it's been visible for a few years now, a couple of years ago it was fully covered by sand for a while.

You'll need a calm day, just as I had. Then run on the highest FPS possible, damp the holder with moongel and try to balance the props. These are the tips I know of (haven't got round to the balancing yet myself).

I'm thinking of using one of these for a beach shoot and am worried about wind and some of the image wobble - any tips for how to stabilize? Thanks!
