Loved my Salcantay trek. So, so beautiful. So many gorgeous flowers and waterfalls along the way. 67 when I did it but not sure I could handle the trek again. The thing is that people underestimate how the altitude will affect them and go without first acclimating. I have been to Machu Picchu twice. (Hiked the Inka trail in 1979.) Nothing better or more mysterious than MP.
