What exactly do you mean by untextured polygons? They look textured to me...likely because of the way they're colored. Also this is just my opinion, I DON'T mean it as you're wrong or I'm right. (Previous edit didn't have "DON'T", so I fixed it. Sorry!)
@gusty71535 жыл бұрын
@@MyDoubleJs indeed. "untextured" means having no fancy color patterns on their surfaces. just solid color polygons. plenty of the animations in this video had textures so i'm confused as well.

I always find myself going back to this video. Always have for the past 5 or so years. Right now I’m about to start my career. Economy is bad so it’s hard finding a job, very competitive. I’m also in a weird transitional period with my current relationship. They are about to go to grad school and I’m nervous. I don’t know if we will be together or what not in the future and it makes me sad. But there’s one thing that’s for certain and it’s that I’ll always file back to this album and these visuals. Hopefully the next time I listen I’ll be in a better place in life.

For some reason, this video is just so mesmerising in such a beautiful way. It’s just so crazy, it’s something about the mixture of 80’s and 90’s TV, strange CGI demonstration monstrosities and real life footage of the neon lights and roadways of 1990’s Japan. It’s incredible and surreal. This is a truly touching visual masterpiece and tribute to Macintosh Plus. Honestly, when I first saw this, I thought this was official music videos compiled together, and the soft analog-esque picture made me believe this was ripped from a real LaserDisc release.

OK, man i gotta say i LOVE this album. And for you to do this is purely genius. It is absolutely inspired so perfectly by the music. You took an aesthetic and riffed on it in so many different ways. I'm only 1/3 of the way in and so far i am amazed by your creativity. Like the music, the visuals continue to change and morph -- nothing gets too stuck in repetition. Except when it's appropriate, say at the 14:00 mark where it gets "stuck" with the music. Things are also humorous, like the shaving dude, and i have no idea where you culled all this from but you obviously spent a good deal of time on it and i think you should be proud of it. Going to watch more of it now...

Nostalgic, but for a time you probably never experienced. The fake utopian aspect really shows. It's like travelling somewhere beautiful and being able to let go of your worries, but also never knowing if you'll ever really be alright. Still, the visuals make it a helluva lot better than the craptastic reality we are forced to live through. So this fictional world keeps people coming back for more. It's very symbolic or very meta. To add to the symbolism, I could go into how: no matter how authentic the videos are (they're all from the 80s) the result will always be a product of modernity. Maybe that makes it slightly sad, but it's not something we can run from, so perhaps we should make the best of what we have. It's high quality, and makes me embrace my zoomer side (I'm a young millennial, at least grew up being told I was a millennial but now people think I'm a zoomer haha)

Damn we have so much to learn about this video. People don't recognize just how deep it goes. Not only do its very visuals recreate the virtual plazas, the Auge-ian "non places" that modern capitalism creates through its constant deterritorialization of space in favor of creating consuming, consumable, easily-profitable "place", ie. the architecture and sci-fi futurisms which represent the apex of our modern trajectory towards capitalism, but it also recreates capitalism's modern ideological dissemination on the level of form, both in its conceit of being a program with "messages" and time-fragmentation like any modern complacency-sitcom as well as in its surprisingly naively simple thematic progression and associations between songs and visuals, which recreate in an accelerated exaggeration the ways in which capitalism makes us pretend to be children who can easily associate things with their referents, as opposed to the increasingly disembodied signifiers today, almost entirely severed from referential material content
