Common definetly stood his ground. It was more of a Cube beef, though, and Common hadn’t really started it. But his diss record was definetly on point, considering he was going at a dude credited to start g-rap, wringing one of the most savagely insane diss record, and being the - at the time - top rapper from one of the most dangerous city in America. But Common was a great lyricist too, and Chicago wasn’t that far from LA as far as gangsterism go, and Common had the strength of conviction, as it was Cube who started the shot for no reason.

If I'm not mistaken, it started with Common's joint I Used To Love H.E.R. I believe the line was: "Talkin' about poppin' glocks, servin' rocks, and hittin' switches! Now she's a gangsta rollin' with gangsta bitches!" He also dropped a line that goes: "Then, she's just not the same lettin' all these groupies do her. I seen niggaz slammin' her and takin' her to the sewer (Onyx and Das Efx reference)!" Onyx and Das Efx didn't trip. Cube did. I think he took it the wrong way and just ran with it. Common was metaphorically comparing hip-hop to a woman the same way Tupac metaphorically compared a gun to a woman in Me And My Girlfriend or the way Nas metaphorically compared himself to a gun in I Gave You Power. I love and respect Cube. He always has been and always will be a legend to me. Common never struck me as the type of emcee to just purposely go around kicking up dust against other rappers so I gotta ride with him on this one. To me, The Bitch In Yoo was just him defending himself. "And violate you, a Muslim drinkin' brew! Your nigga ain't no Mack 10, he's a 22!" Plus, it didn't hurt Common's career none. Look at him now: Grammy winner, Oscar winner, book author, philanthropist, legendary star.... I say Chi-town's son gets the win in that one.

Vlad wants to do this: start old beef that was already squashed...keeps baiting rappers into putting thought about how didn't the beef escalate any further...and Vlad wants vladtv to be the center point mentioned (regardless if it's negative) that that's where the beef picked up again. Dangerous route but it seems Vlad got a pass by every O.G. that fuks w him....he's single handedly destroying the persona of each hip hop artist that he ever listened too...by being the snake that hides under the rock when the shit hits the fan.
