Another excellent video Gary. A bit of history. "Frenchman's Bay was once popular with smugglers and was named after a French ship that ran aground here in the 17th century. At one time it was a sandy bay, popular with visitors who descended the cliff by long wooden steps. The cliff rocks were formed in the Permian period, 280 to 245 million years ago, when South Shields lay near the Equator. A beautiful part of the UK.

Thanks Jeremy. Great to know a bit of the history always interested to know a bit more about the places I fish. I bet it was a great place to visit back in the day when you could get down. I went into the bay in my kayak the other week its all rocky now but still would be a good place to spend the day.

Out of the sea, into the pan. There's something about sea air that increases the appetite. It's always great to see someone who appreciates the whole package experience.

What strength line do you use for a 60g spinner mate I always had 25lb but I find it to heavy and can’t get the distance
@fishingintheukgarywood3 жыл бұрын
I had 15lb mono on the reel i was using in this video. I usually use braid 25lb and up it helps with distance using metal lures but the down side is it can easily snap if it touches the rocks when under tension.
@2010Doddsy3 жыл бұрын
@@fishingintheukgarywood that’s spot on thank you I will give 15lb mono a try
@steventuck9593 жыл бұрын
Do you fish off the lier much, I've been down the leas but I think I fished it too early and kept getting snagged.
@fishingintheukgarywood3 жыл бұрын
Yeah I fish the pier quite a bit usually first and last light. Its not very deep at the leas about an hour each side of high water is usually good for spinning.
